Can't wait to get there, get on the cans, and bag some useless kiwis.

Weather forecast is for sunny conditions which should ensure a good standard of game too.

70,204 - Australia vs England, SCG 1932
70,174 - Australia vs Great Britain, SCG 1962
68,777 - Australia vs Great Britain, SCG 1958
68,720 - Australia vs Great Britain, SCG 1958
67,748 - Australia vs France, SCG 1955
67,577 - Australia vs Great Britain, SCG 1954

That should be the new record then.

Don't be silly. Why would Australian TV want to broadcast the biggest game of RL in the world when it isn't nsw v Queensland?

Gotta laugh at the wankers dismissing this game as a who cares affair.

75k at a sold out Old Trafford??

Hardly who cares. How many other rugby league events attract 75k?

4 a year maybe??

On second thoughts, seeing as the capacity has been reduced to 74k, or so I have heard, it's going to be very tight for a new record as I reckon a few hundred English ticket holders won't show. Oh well, just announce the sold tickets figure, that will do me.

74,468 - new record.

Fantastic to see the English, a neutral crowd, almost all staying for the presentation ceremony. I seem to recall that this was far from the case in Brisbane five years ago. The British public have just been wonderful.

So why aren't English Super League crowds better?

Not saying they should get these sorts of crowds all the time. But when you see their piddley little crowds and then see some very good crowds here at the cup you have to wonder why. Could it be that's it's the occasion (World Cup) that attracted them and not game the game itself?

International rugby is the whole country, Super league is club rugby from a town/city.

So the pool to get fans from is bigger as a country is bigger than a town/city.

Obviously. ;-)

Whilst good, would they have done it if England had've just lost the final?????

Talking about staying behind to watch the presentation.

The crowd figure, awesome.

In my opinion that's got very little to do with it.

What the ESL need to do know is build on the success of this cup. A shame in away their season is still some months away.

The World Cup must be going ok if 74k can attend a game between Aus and NZ in Eng.

This same game got 44k back in 2000.

A wonderful improvement and credit must go to the organisers.

Nah, i think there are more RL fans in the whole of England than in Wigan or Leeds...

Having a pop at the ESL not building on a World cup on the night the World cup finished?

Every ESL game since the World cup has sold out. ;-)
