BAZ PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Manly have made a bold move for the future by signing boom Cronulla NYC half Luke Metcalf.

The star of the NSW under 18s Origin side, Metcalf produced a three try man of the match performance in their 35-28 win over Queensland.

The 20-year-old has inked a three-year-deal where he’ll be groomed to succeed Blake Green as Daly Cherry-Evans’ long-term halves partner.

Green turns 32 at the end of his contract and while he may sign on beyond 2018, there’s a pathway to first grade.

Can't keep them all but still pretty miffed about this one. Especially losing him to Manly who seem to be stockpiling young talent (a la Brisbane) at the moment.

That Is journalism at its finest. First it says he played 18s, then all of a sudden he is 20.

They had a shyte first half.

Down 24-6 HT.

Came back in the second half 2 tries to nil.

But the damage was done.

They gave away a lot of penalties and dropped a lot of ball.

Maybe they had a joint training session with the first grade side?

And we'll be lucky to see any of them in firsts with the coach filling up the team with Gray, Duges, Beal and Feki. Lee and Capewell as backup.
They don't have much to beat for a wing spot in reality.

If all these players come through to be quality first grade players and we retain them, we will be laughing

Not as bad as it lookes
Beale - not resigned
Capewell - i think Flanno now sees him as forward
Lee - Ramien now in front of him
