Why the f**k do we insist on playing sideways first?

The halfback or 5/8s job is to catch and pass or to move forward before drifting sideways. You need to put the defence onto the back foot or at least stop it moving forward for a second or two.

Why the f**k are we persisting with the one put forward runs?? There is no support around the ruck.

Why are the forwards first movement diagonal and/or sideways.

It was shown that playing straight and fast is the way to go against the cows. That first 40, was brilliant to watch.

Also seggy has to go. He is a handbrake in attack. I really expected better.

The lack of support runners off forwards is representative of a lack of sharpness and willingness to do the 1%ers. They are just not 'on' and haven't been this season apart from 40 mins v Canberra and a game against easts.

The 20s side runs support lines really well. It's a different level but they are well drilled. It takes a defender off the ball runner and gives him a better chance to win contact and get a quick ptb.

Last night they were far too lateral. Fifita grabbed and was easily handled. Chad did not go the line just drifted.

2016 was built on the back of the 1% plays.
Urgency and desire in attack
A want to smash blokes in defence

Insipid performance by both sides. If Fergo wasn't so shit they would've won by 3 more tries. The Sege run / Chad knock on was 100 times worse than the penalty at the very end.

Yeah, that whole last set from us was laughable, showed no desire or footy smarts. Sege messed up several times and Chad iced it with a poor error.

At least Gallen was trying, even though it resulted in a penalty, was a close call and he was attempting to reduce their time for a field goal. Would almost certainly have kicked it if Cordner was allowed to play it quickly.

We should never have been in that position with a 7 tackle set with 2 minutes to go.

When Mitchell dropped his shoulder into Townsend on the ground and then threw him back on the ground, our forwards should have come from everywhere to stick up for their halfback. If that's Smith or Milford, the Storm or the Broncos forwards wouldn't have let him get away with it. Thought it was pretty poor.
