    Well, no

The thread title (and I'm sure the intent of the OP) is the idea that Abbott is channelling Kevin Rudd by undermining Turnbull with the aim of regaining the Prime Ministership. There is little or no genuine evidence of that, no matter how hard you want to look

Abbott is commenting on a particular policy to which he is opposed, as he is allowed to do as a Liberal MP

There was no 'consensus' between Howard and Turnbull bandy. As I said, Howard's ETS would never have been implemented, as confirmed by the man himself

Shorten is promising a 50% RET. The Greens want far more than that. They are stridently anti-coal as a matter of basic principle. And that means that any proposed investment in coal generation carries enormous risk

If you aren't willing to concede that at least, you are a far more biased than you could ever accuse me of being

Abbott is not my 'little hero,' and calling him that does not prove anything

Again you cite Hewson as evidence of Liberal party opposition to Abbott, despite Hewson being the Liberal equivalent of Mark Latham

It's just flat-out false, an you know it

And what would a leftist response be without a false claim of victory...

Well, yeah, As I said, not heeding by his own counsel ( not to be a wrecker )

Yeah mate, ok, that's all he's doing. By the way, I have this bridge up for sale you might be interested in.......

Well, given I stated these policies created a consensus between the majors, whether Howard and Turnbull's policy aligned is immaterial. Please pay attention, it'll save time debating pointless positions.

It's happening across the west mate, there isn't a great appetite for coal because there is a realisation that the time of ignoring the cost of emissions is past, it's just no longer economically viable when you can no longer dump your waste products for free into the atmosphere.

    It's not meant to.

Sure it is mate, glad you've managed to ignore every other quotation provided in the articles posted, why is that mate?

Stick a fork in ya, you're done.

Abbott is no Rudd bandy, as much as you want to pretend he is

He might possibly cross the floor, which as a Liberal MP he is also allowed to do. But there is no evidence that he is after Turnbull's job

Your insinuations to the contrary are not evidence

There may have been more of a genuine consensus between Turnbull and the Labor/Greens coalition (which correctly cost Turnbull his job), but there was not with Howard

As you say though, it is not relevant

I suppose that's why there are currently hundreds of new plants currently being built around the world, with even more in planning?

    More irrelevant waffle then

Which quotes do you think I should have paid particular attention to?

    *yawn*

Even less convincing that the first one...

Mr Bubbles is right about one thing, Abbott is no Rudd. Rudd was actually popular at one time, Uncle Tones has never been popular. Lol.

You're right, he aint that smart, he's just a vengeful turd, and our worst Prime Minister in living memeory

Yeah, but his actions are. Oh well

Your rebuttal is irrelevant, as it attempted to refute a position I have not taken, however I'm glad to see you dropping the pretence of ignoring the consensus that clearly existed, I'm also glad you now concede that Abbott's actions directly led to removal of that consensus.

You'll note my post referred to the west mate, not the entire world. If you wish to rebuke that which I have posted, why not actually address that which is posted?

Would you care to argue the actual point I make? You wouldn't? Why is that mate?

    Meh.

Perhaps you should start with the ones from the government cabinet refuting Abbott's position?

Well, you're in a hole mate, and you just can't help yourself, you keep digging.

    Dig up mate. Dig up!

There is "little or no" evidence of Abbott undermining his own party.

Jesus, what a blissful ignorance that world must be

Mal's more of a liberal, and less of a conservative nutter.

He'd likely be even more of a liberal if there wasn't a need to appease the conservative nutters in his party.

The Abbott fanboys forget what a total f**king disaster he was as PM, an inanimate rod would have been preferable to Abbott, so ol' Trumbles was always gonna be a better option.

If your memory can't reach back as far as 2012, I suggest you seek a medical assessment

Well, feel free to believe that if it helps you justify your hatred

Yes, the consensus was between Turnbull and the Labor/Greens coalition

And it correctly cost Turnbull his job, as I said

If you think that represents some sort of win for you, well done

    Because it's irrelevant

How is Australian coal burned in China any better for the environment than Australian coal burned in Australia?

They are entitled to their opinion

And I am entitled to disagree with them

Says the bloke who lacks the character to concede even the most trivial point

It seemingly reaches further back than does yours, so yeah, I'm good Bubble boy.

Ha ha, hatred. Seeing is believing, but there are none so blind as those that will not see.

    Stop picking on uncle Toes..........Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

Well, it displays my point, there we had consensus around energy policy, nek minute...........

Believe it or not mate, we are a western economy, so if capital is fleeing coal in western economies, it's all to f**king relevant.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how far it flies in the face of reality.

f**king Lolz, the people that know him best are wrong, 'cause Jimbo has reasons.

When you make some kind of argument that necessitates a concession due it's irrefutable logic or factual content, give me a yell.

    I won't hold my breath.....

    Why is it shit?

    Edit

I would have thought you would have had no issue consuming all the power you produced?

That's because the cost of generation has little to do with the actual retail cost of power for your average pleb..

    Name calling is not evidence

    Attempted ridicule is not evidence

A garbage policy which was correctly opposed

I don't believe we should pointlessly damage our economy just because other western countries want to pointlessly damage theirs

There are also quite a few members who agree with Abbott

    Let's not mention them though

    Waste of my time

    Your ego wouldn't let you

Ignoring the point isn't an argument.

Ignoring the point isn't an argument.

Opposition of which leads us where we now are, uncertainty.

Of course, only Tones knows the truth.

Well I suppose we;ll have to wait until they are prepared to go on record hey, meanwhile you can console yourself with the ravings of Christianson.

So you'd rather waste your time responding with the usual drivel?

    Lolz
