Glen McGrath wants 500 test wickets.

Saw him interviewed on Inside Cricket last night, and that is his goal.

He is bowling in the nets at the moment, but not at full pace.

The ankle that he had the operation on, is the one that he thumps into the ground, on his final delivery stride. It is getting stronger every day.

He is looking forward to the tour of Sri Lanka, but will not go unless he is 100% fit, and he expects to be.

McGrath won't go until the tests start. Warne still only needs 9 wkts to get 500 scalps. Shame he's been on this mark since early Dec 2002. :lol:

McGraths stats are:

95 Tests
430 wickets at 21.72
Strike Rate of 52.03


At an average of 4.53 wickets per test he would only need to play 15 or so Tests to break 500 if he keeps to his average. Not too bad really.

Walsh broke 500 in his 129 Test so McGrath could beat that. Warne has played 107 Tests for his 491 so he should effectively beat Walsh as well.
