Leo Bertos pumped Perth with a late 40m screamer for the win. You little ripper!

Perth had plenty of chances to put the Phoenix out of the match in the 2nd half. They should have taken at least a point out of that mind you the Phoenix were the dominant side after that first goal from Sikora.

Good to see Wellington get a win. This year's competition looks wide open at this point, and Perth should only improve as they work out the combinations in a vastly restructured side.

Dunno about that, Dave Mitchell isnt the best manager going around and Perth are a real worry IMO. I remember the old NSL, because Mitchell failed terribly with Parramatta Power when they had the best squad, but he simply couldn't get them to gel.

I really hope they do well, because if they do, they'll get great crowds.

The squad is definitely of the quality to give the premiership a shake, but I've not seen anything from Mitchell (and wasn't much of a football fan in the NSL days) to suggest he's much of a coach.

I'm sure if results continue to go the way they are, he'll be shown the door.

Howarth looked good when he came on.
He spent the whole second half making Muscat look pathetic.
