Heads up for this years, Storms, Broncos & Cowboys cheating plans

The u20's competion is now finished & I was made aware yesterday the QCup will be salary cap free and the main feeder teams for some clubs.. The Broncos have Redcliffe as their feeder team & reports are coming in so far they have spent $1.5 million dollars. Compared to a team like Tweed Seagulls, $250k . Maybe.
Storm feeder team also from QCup & ofcourse Cowboys have a few.
Titans feeder team will be Seagulls but there is no Cash at Titans for Seagulls.
Make it known.

Probably can spin that into "investing in the future of the game" or " Showing Wonderfull Community spirit."... Choose your own BS....Anyway ..move along .....nothing more to see here.

FMD.......I'm going to start a petition against this outrageous situation. Just quietly.....I think it is all Cam Smith and Val Holmes fault.

If you think it means nothing, than you are again highlighting what a dumb country you are. Not that any of need reminding.
The Storm will be using 2 feeder clubs out of QLD, both in the Q Cup. NSW Intrust cup clubs will be restricted to 300k salary cap, once the cap is fully finalised.
That means Newtown, AKA Sharks, will have a $300k max wharehouse. The storm will have no barriers to how much they can spend.
As I stated, Redcliff(Broncos) already spent $1.5mil
Its a disaster & again, the biggest cheats, Storm, Broncos get the advantage.

You do realise that each Nrl club has a 30 player roster now (up from 25) If any club has the misfortune of suffering that many injuries that they have to look beyond their top 30 then they are unlikely to be in contention regardless. Refresh my memory.....when was the last time the Sharks needed to call up someone from our feeder club?

We’d be bottom 4 if we used any Newtown players. None of thEm last year were NRL standard.

fmf you are a dumb twit! Its about wharehousing youth. Melbourne are no better at identifying talent than anybody else. What they are good at , is paying emerging talent , huge dollars. Now they can do that even more. The Sharks cant,& will probably lose more talent to Melbourne

There's no call to be needling us about "cheating". Sure, it's good banter and a way to pep things up but taking jabs like that is likely to bring return shots.

Canberra were not going to be allowed to play in the ball and Matthews because they were ditching the nsw cup for an affiliation with Souths Logan.

A joint venture with Mounties was promptly arranged.

Bring back the good old days. The days of Thirds, Ressies and the First.

You rocked up to watch the Thirds. See the old Dinosaurs bashing the young upstarts.

You watched the Ressies and see some of the Young up and coming guns touch up the old blokes on the start of their slide.

Then you watched First Grade where everyone bashed everyone if they could catch them.

And boy wasn't it a full days pissup with three games on the trott.

This is true. Been sleuthing a bit.

Also true is the QRL have NEVER had a salary cap in their comp.

As recent as 2017 there has been calls to introduce one but not having one isnt new and probably not a conspiracy

Sorry deefer

https://www.qt.com.au/news/comment-salary-cap-for-q-cup-is-needed/3165759/
Correct. But those clubs only had grant money & generated income, if any, to use. Even Redcliff was careful with their spending.
The difference is now that there isn u20's comp that the nRL clubs HAVE to contribute to.
All that money & more is being directedto the qcup clubs that are wharehousing the NRL club talent.
The direct result is that the top 4 for Qcup is already known, before a whistle is blown & the youth talent will be directed towards Storm Bronco's Cowboys by managers.

We'll almost never see anything like this again though. All any sport is doing is trying to figure how they can entertain cashed up millennials unable to stay engaged with anything longer than two hours.

You know, because that's how you run a business now and rugby league IS. A. BUSINESS.
