RLWC2017_Final_Draw_slide_1080x720_BLACK.JPG

This is the image drawn from the NRL Announcement of the RLWC Draw. http://www.nrl.com/2017-rugby-league-world-cup-draw/tabid/10874/newsid/99319/default.aspx

On the RLWC website, there is no explanation of the how the Final format works during the Quarter Finals.

The Wikipedia entry for the RLWC 2017 has the format that would be expect:

1st Group A v 3rd Group B in Darwin
2nd Group B v 1st Group D in Christchurch
1st Group B
v 3rd Group A in Wellington
2nd Group A
v 1st Group C in Melbourne

However, this cannot be found, to the best of my knowledge, on nay official page or press release.

So, what is the format? Is it going to be allocated depending on who finishes where and what the best possible 'match up' is? If we use the image above, we could infer that the entire Tournament is split between Pools A/B and Pool C/D?!

Probably a whole lot of worrying for nothing, can anyone help?

Quarters:
1: 1st Group A v 3rd Group B in Darwin
2: 2nd Group B v 1st Group D in Christchurch
3: 1st Group B v 3rd Group A in Wellington
4: 2nd Group A v 1st Group C in Melbourne

Semis:
Q1 v Q2
Q3 v Q4

^ This is the *only* format that makes sense, if you consider other alternatives.
It's fair, it lines up the best teams for the grand final, it avoids replaying pool matches.

If it were to go as I assume it does, it'll be Australia v minnow
Damn was hoping to do semi and final and stay in Brisbane but might have to head to NZ for that semi if it is likely to be Eng v NZ which will be a corker.
