More good news - Gioele Celerino has also joined the side. Gioele was the 'success story' of the 2013 RLWC and a blueprint of how emerging nation player development should work. After being one of the only domestic players in Italy's world cup squad, Gioele headed to the UK to continue his development and made a few appearances for League One outfit Newcastle Thunder.

Bergamasco's signing has also made it to local media.

Wonder if this a case of Saluzzo seeking out these players or the players naturally gravitating towards the only full season League club in Italy.

Good news either way. A few full season clubs in the the north-west of Italy playing in France could really do wonders for domestic development.

Did Celerino play a game in 2013? Or is this latest union player just going to end up being the token domestic Italian in the squad & not even end up on the field?

I quite avidly follow the RLWC & I don't even recall this Italian or least the media didn't make a big deal out of him as he was swamped by heritage players?
