Bird will stay with the Sharks.....his manager is just doing the usual to push up his asking price in a competitive market. I cannot see him leaving the premiers to go to the Twice wooden spooners. Sometimes success and mateship out weigh the almighty dollar.
He will never come back to the Saints, but Mary has been speaking to another bird

If Dugan signs for 850k and the Dragons let go Lafai and Widdop, there will be plenty of salary cap left to sign Bird.

If Dugan moves on we need an experienced fullback and five-eighth. Mann and Bird. Field and Dufty to be blooded during 2017-18.

Signiing Bird for the $ he appears to be after would be just plain stupid!

Hasn't Jack B. previously stated that he sees himself as a fullback? Perhaps the Dragons are using this an inducement? As stated elsewhere, I don't believe Dugan and Widdop will be at the club, which would be a real shame,

However, McGregor will be re-signed (my prediction is by round 10)....whoop de do!

It has been reported that Bird is being offered 1m by the Knights, 900k by the Eels and 700k by the sharks. I believe the Dragons could win his signature by offering him the five-eighth spot.

Possm, I think Bird is a center or backrower. I don't like the idea of spending a fortune on a player that isn't a specialist.

Things always happen in three's! Dragons are no chance and will miss out on :-
Ivan Cleary, Des Hasler and Jack Bird
Time to move along folks......next!

If I could choose one of those three it would be cleary. Des is a weirdo and Bird is a arrogant prick.
I'm happy to miss out on those guys.

Still not 100% if we are even on the radar for Jack Bird and vice versa.

Need a few more Jack Bird related threads before I am convinced.

Daley from what I can remember was a coaching consultant to Nathan Brown
who promised something but only delivered a slap to Trent Barrett's face.
Nathan is travelling well now as his Knights only got beaten forty something to nothing. The only decent coaches appointed by Doust have been Waite and Bennett. He stuffed up badly with Farrar, Brown, Price and
Mc Gregor. Doust has a 33% success record and should stand down in disgrace with Robinson who has
stuffed up St. George Leagues Club.
