Mate, Sam Aiga and Lee Cameron are not certainties for Parra however they could be both trialling for a contract.

I thought that Erina had Wooden signed until the end of 2008 and his only out was if he was offered a full time NRL contract.

He's already started pre-season training with Easts. Was a little bit late in starting training as he had to relocate from the Central Coast. Must have found someway of getting out of the rest of his contract.

:? It's will suck not being a part of a comp that is just starting to take off in 2007, especially after making the 2006 grandfinal, ( even though we were injury depleted on the day ). !!!!

With the youth cup almost certain for 2008 and the overflow of older players from the NRL being used by JB Cup teams, the level of the JB Cup is going to rise a few knotches and with that the level of interest. I'm actually keen to see how the JB Cup develops over the next two or three years.

JBC has had many false starters. Even now clubs are only committing on a year by year basis. There has been a high turnover of clubs since its inception. The move to 12 teams is good but it remains to be seen how long it will last.

With the youth competition coming in, NRL clubs will have fewer players on their books. The surplus over age players that cannot pay Under 20s will have to go somewhere.

JBC seems like an obvious choice but not in its current form. Due to the points system, there are only so many elite players that can go there. The Jim Beam Cup put the Points System in to try and become a development league. It is hard to be a development league and a holding bay for NRL reserves at the same time.

It may get to a stage where NRL clubs are unable to play all their desired reserved because the Points System will not allow it. NRL clubs may not like this and rather than send players to a JBC club, they may demand that said JBC club enters a Premier League where playing squads are less restricted. Either that or the Points System in Jim Beam Cup has to be relaxed.

it's an interesting point you make, I can't help thinking that the NSWRL will once again revamp the comp to suit the NRL clubs and probably make the comp a little more attractive so effectively this new comp next years is strictly a one off at this stage until 2008 comes into affect, I see the following happening and this is just my opinion as I haven't a clue what the NSWRL, NRL and JBC are thinking in terms of 2008.

* The points system will be scrapped leaving a free for all.

* foundation clubs Newtown and Norths will still be invited to participate.

* each NRL club will nominate and field one side to represent them in the JBC for example it may look a little like this.

Canterbury - Sydney Bulls
Parramatta - Seven Hills
St George - Shellharbour
Manly - Belrose or Asquith
West Tigers - Balmain/Ryde-Eastwood
Souths - Souths juniors [or Norths]
Sydney Roosters - Newtown
Cronulla - Carringbah
Newcastle - Wests-Newi or combined Central Coast
Canberra - Belconnen

* They will play in suburbon grounds

I could well be way off the mark but that is the sort of structure the NSWRL will look at.

hey does anyone know anything about the windsor sidee for this year eg players , coach
I heard that Windsor's coach will be Trent Rosa. He was North Sydney assistant coach in 2006.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few players from Norths follow him to Windsor.
