Time to eat humble pie CA and bring Zampa back for the WC. Or at least another wristie.. say Swepson. Known fact.. Poms hate leggies and eat up finger spinners on these flat non turning decks. Current wristie Short has proven a massive failure with his inocuous chinamans. Agar has been economical but not penetrative. Seems Head has been forgotten. Bowls a decent offie.. no worse than Maxwell.

Saddens me to see us feeding the Poms world records. Our second string attack has been a major disappointment. Tye specially as the teams most experienced specialist limited overs bowler. Recall he copped a hiding in a T20 WC coupla years ago.. nothing has changed. Kane Richardson is clever but is struggling on these benign decks. Stanlake and Jhye Richardson have had their speed nullified by these flat tracks with their quickest balls landing nicely onto the Pommie bats. The question remains. Would Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins be doing any better?

Their spinners are taking wickets and slowing up the run rate. Even Ali somehow. Agar has been our best and he's barely a speed bump.
Not sure if Lyon would do better, but now is as good a time as any to find out.

I'd be bringing Carey in for Paine. Paine is not an ODI player. We need a wicket keeper batsman, not a wicket keeper/diplomat.

Can't expect too much with our entire pace attack and two best batsmen missing, but our depth issues - which have been developing for some time - have been well and truly exposed. Aussie 2nd stringers shouldn't be getting humiliated in such a fashion. But let's keep the focus on Kentucky Fried Cricket and learning how to be nice.

Meh, being realistic we're missing a whole side just about and if that deck had been prepared in Australia you'd never here the end of it in certain circles. Third string attack plus a strip of tarmac and a smallish ground...

Sri Lanka skipper found guilty and banned one match for ball-tampering during second Test against West Indies.

What a joke!!! So much for ICC vow to get tuffa on ball tampering. How is what Chandimal did any different to what Cameron Bancroft did?

We smacked Ali in the Ashes why are we not doing the same here. Tell you why..this generation are as proficient against spin as my grandmothder is at Ten Pin bowling. Move your bloody feet you nongs.. do not let the spinner settle. These are not turning decks yet our blokes are pathetic.. other than a few as mentioned earlier.

I think we need to develop better spin bowlers. We do that, our batsman face more spin and get better at facing it.

It seems we're too focused on developing a pace attack whilst spin bowling is forgotten.

We are developing better spin bowlers. Other than Agar they are not here.. mores the pity. CA has built Indian style decks at the National Cricket Centre and only a couple of months back held a major Spin Camp for all our promising spinners. In addition, every year CA sends our best youth tweakers to play in the Sub Continent.

CA has been saying that for years - where are the spinners then? We haven't produced a world class leggie since MacGill.

To suggest that Ashton Agar is up to the role he's been given is just laughable I'm afraid.

World class leggies dont grow on trees. Agar has improved over past two seasons.. but sadly is not yet at the quality stage. Persevere with him as he could develop into a very good all rounder. Remember he does most of his bowling on the oh so unspinning WACA. His action has always reminded me of Kiwi great Dan Vettori.

Not only is Agar not yet up to it, I dont think he ever will be. We have this obsession with all rounders yet we pick players who can neither bat or bowl at this level.

I guess in reality we dont have any genuine all rounders

Correct. It seems these days if you can roll your arm over or once hit a six in a big flog game you are designated as an allrounder.

Agar couldn't spin a top on lino. His batting is and except for a surprise 98 on test debut is shit.

And he's not even good looking anymore.
