Cant believe there's still members of the Warriors fan base that want anything to do with this guy.

We all know the talent and ability he had, and maybe there's a still a chance that he could blossom again (though his track record bouncing around all over the place continues to suggest otherwise) but the Warriors sure as f**k aren't the ones who should be trying to partake in the reclamation project. We've heard, and seen, how much about the shit culture there, throwing in another toxic element is the last thing they need.

Wish him all the best, but I don't think his best interests lie at the Warriors organisation given the history he has withthe club, and given last years' shitstorm following the xannys/redbull use from half a dozen or so players, probably not the best gamble to take.

He could thrive at a more cut throat organisation such as Melbourne, or he could sink. It's really up to him. Pro footy can be a blessing and a curse for someone such as Locke who has a lot of personal baggage.

he would have been a great halfback.... i remember lowe saying that when he was coming through as a 19 year old.....not really a winder or fullback anymore, too small

Well if he hadn't thrown his toys when Tomkins was signed he probably would've been given a shot in the halves. But he acted like a petulant sook.

While I'm not entertaining his return or defending his idiocy, Locke had a valid reason to be miffed at losing incumbency to a tumbling bomb-dropping ESL star who couldn't tackle Ben Barba.

The way he was handled was pretty pathetic if you take all his off-field stuff out of the equation.

Disagree. Tomkins came with big wraps and Locke already had injury and attitude issues.
And given the disappointment that Tomkins turned out to be if Locke had fought for his spot he'd likely have got it back.

He'd already lost the 1 out of pre-season to Fish the year prior but then Fish got injured so he lucked in to getting it back.

He was already losing it before Tomkins, and he scored like two tries the season before Tomkins arrived. His attitude problems were apparent long before Tomkins arrival and his on field performances were falling off too, that's just making a weak excuse for him.

Even if that were the reason, it's a shit one, step up to the challenge and defend your jersey, force them into picking Tomkins in the halves.

You can't just remove the off field stuff from the equation either. Locke gave them multiple reasons to look at signing a new fullback when he had all the tools to be the solution for a very long time. The way he has tumbled his way around after the Warriors has only further proven they were exactly right in replacing him even if the replacement didn't pan out.

at the end of the day he was a kiwi fullback.....plenty of players in his position would spit the dummy in similar circumstances....ie signing the bumbling pom

The reason they went after Tomkins is because Lockes form the previous season was dreadful. His pace was way down, he wasn't big enough to get through the line without, so his attack became virtually null and void.

Was being the key word here.

If he maintained that level and wasn't such a muppet then they wouldn't have needed to look elsewhere.

Tomkins the "bumbling pom" was better than Locke had been the season prior when he was shit and again had actually lost the 1 jersey in preseason.

The idea that he should be entitled to spit the dummy just because he was in the Kiwis is a laugh and perpetuates the shit attitude that this group seem to have. Having been in the Kiwis doesn't absolve you from having a crap attitude and poor performances on the field.

Suspended from driving multiple times, done speeding multiple times, should we blame Tomkins for that too?

It's just a poor excuse. He had attitude issues pre Tomkins and his career has been in the crapper long after Tomkins came and went. The only one to blame is Locke himself.

Ah f@<k him. Hes a dumb Kev. Like you guys say, he squandered a real oppertunity. We got kiwis out on parks Tues/Thurs 6 to 8pm busting their butts to hopefully get a shot at what he had. For now he should just stand in the grandstand like the rest of us and he should even ask SJ for his autograph. Locke thinks he does gratitude but he does the 'cool guy' now look. Fuggin idiot.
