NOBODY beats Tim Sheens 17 times in a row.

Except John Lang.

He has now extended his scarcely believable winning streak against Sheens to 17 matches, stretching back to 1994.

And it took the Rabbitohs coming back from the dead at ANZ Stadium last night despite a casualty list resembling the Rum Rebellion to do it.

"The room is just as disappointed as we were when they put 50 on us earlier this year, just for different reasons," Sheens said. "We led virtually all the way. To lose in the dying seconds is heartbreaking."

It was written all over his face.

"Souths came up with some soft tries. I'm pretty disappointed with our defence. The young debutant centre scored three, that's pretty ordinary from our people.

.

"We did enough to win that game, we made enough breaks, they had half their normal side.

"We had control of that game and should have won it."

Lang had 17 Bunnies at his disposal as players. And another bunny in Sheens.

"I'm not sure what the feeling is at the moment," said gutted Tigers captain Robbie Farah. "Just the softness of their tries. You're not supposed to lose those games.

"We're better than that.

"We controlled the game, made numerous breaks we didn't capitalise on and they shouldn't have got close.

"But we gave them a sniff and when you do that, they start to throw the ball around.

"[Issac] Luke and [Chris] Sandow get excited; we brought it on ourselves."
