Keep reading/hearing the stories he took a lot of bullets for players' off-field behaviour. Would not be the first to think said players won't be playing Origin again. And I think, based on the success of the past 10 years, removing some of those players from the Origin environment permanently may actually be beneficial for NSW as a whole, irrespective of how talented said players are individually.

daley made bad decisions as selector and in man-management, but does anyone reckon fittler and johns will be any different? these two will be as typical as daley and the rest of NSW rugby league when it comes to selection, overlooking questionable character and select similar downhill skiers.

if you want to select winners, you have to select elite players with the character to be able to make the right decisions on and off the field. NSW have selected off-field fools and crumblers under pressure for too long, and Daley is at fault for this. any new management team needs put much of this era away and start afresh.

Daley was a great player, and probably a wonderful bloke, but he brought this upon himself by not being a good judge of character.
