Widnes in control here. Loving the thick vertical stripes on their jersey.

Salford are like half superman, half spiderman.

Good upbeat game so far.

We have a very crowded sports events list here at this time of year..it would always clash with something

I am aware :lol::lol::lol:

Not sure if it's my beloved Newcastle who want to get the new pitch down ASAP that requires it to be this week. Still with Pardew being in the final everyone in the city was a Man U fan yesterday.

Surely Betts will be given more time by Widnes. They had a great start to the year under him and then unfortunately suffered the perfect storm of things going against them including injuries to key players and taking on either top teams like Warrington and Saints or taking on inform sides like Wakefield as players came into the team.

Salford aren't anywhere near as hopeless this year as previous years and don't deserve to be stuck down with the likes of Huddersfield, Leeds and KR.

Anyway onto the crowd, great result especially considering the most local match (FC v KR) has been moved to Sunday. Hopefully it means a 30K+ crowd for Day 2 and another record.

Any idea what the highest single day attendance for magic weekend is? Last years cumulative was 67k so looks like being 70k or more this year which is bloody good.

A little over 40k last year iirc

67,788is the largest two day total..

We should get 30k plus today to set a new record
