Whilst Toulouse is the next logical option for SL, further down the track an ambitious club like Marseille could be considered.

They seem to be heading in the right direction and have quite alot of sponsors for a French second division side:

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Les Catalans haven't even taken the field yet. Toulouse would be about 20 years ahead of Marseille and they are about 15 years away from being ready.

I think hidden intentions are that a 2nd French side takes one of the new spots when expansion to 14 teams takes place - if Les Catalans prove in any way successful/sustainable....

Hopefully a second French team will be given a chance. That would double the number of French players who could earn a large salary. That can only be good for the international game as for the first time ever, the top French league youth products will have a top level, instead of moving to Union once they matured.

It also means more interesting days out for Super League fans like myself:D

Would a potential SL club based in Marseille be reliant on support from area's like Avignon for both player recruitment and support?
