Anyone got Darren Albert's number? Looks like we're gonna need a miracle to win this...

At the beginning of the season I thought Manly looked like a bottom 4 team. They've outperformed so far.

Thank god Tom T isn't playing. He destroyed us in the first half last year.

I cannot see this as being anything other than.a comfortable home team win. Only interest is in how long we can stay close.

Well he's playing outside a very good centre. Has made a world of difference to him hasn't it. You look like star with a bloke feeding you ball with the try line open all the time.

Now, who did Newcastle have playing inside the Great Uate the past few seasons ..... hmmmmm....... name escapes me for the moment.

Speaking of Uate outside a quality centre remember him and Doogs tearing it up on that right edge? So many brilliant tries.

Uate definitely played his best footy with MacDougall setting him up.

Having a good centre who can set up their outside man is a great asset to have indeed

Funny that some suggest centre is a position not worth spending money on though

It also sounded like Dougs gave him more confidence in defence

To be fair, it would help if we had a decent set of halves giving early ball to the centre so they can put their winger away. We actually used to do this pretty well when we had Mullo using his left to right pass and getting the ball to Mad Dog who was then able to commit the winger and put Uate into space. Over the last few years though Mullo was either out of form or injured so Dane wasn't getting much early ball which makes it pretty difficult for him to show his class.

What also seems to have changed is that we don't have a fwd playing out wide to help out the centres. That used to be a characteristic of the team.

Expecting to lose....and big! can't remember the last time we won there. Wet weather game may help us.
