Could only watch the game in parts coz I'm at work, seemed like a good effort to come back into it but the usual silly mistakes let us down.

Still positive about next year, hope we can make a couple more strong signings in the next month to toughen up a few iffy positions

Fair effort. Were starved of possession twice and paid dearly for it; still fought back to get into it. We missed Lamb is the halves, Sione in defence and Daniel Saifiti although full credit to Jacob, he held his own well.

Still, again, so many NSW tier players so I'd say today we played above what we should have. Reflection of Brown and the kids who have carried this team throughout the last two years.

Bring on 2018.

Big effort from Levi, he was noticeably out on his feet for the last 10-15 minutes of his stint but he kept showing up and making crucial tackles in defence.

Crowd gave him a massive round of applause when he came off at end with cramps, and he returned thatbwe applauding the crowd. He said "sorry, but thank you". Champion kid, and he's going to be even better player next year with a stronger support network around him.

Great press conference with Brownie and Buhrer. Worth a look. Get on board lads, the ride in the next few years will be something after 3 years in the sewer.

Our biggest challenge next year will be consistency in maintaining possession and quality completions - that was our only real downfall yesterday and has been our biggest issue throughout 2017. With possession stats at 44% and completions at 66% we are still competing but not giving ourselves the capacity to control and put games away.

We have all the elements there and when we learn to consistently respect possession and get out completion stats around or above 80% we can compete with any team (even right now with this squad) and we have shown that a few times this year through the wins we have achieved against some decent opposition.

If Brown can get the squad to go up another level next year, we are going to be knocking on the door of a top 8 spot.

I know there is a lot to happen between now and then and we are going to be taking a step or 2 backwards to start with, just to get new combinations gelling in attack and defence but IMHO the potential ceiling for the 2018 squad is certainly there for us to be competing for a finals birth next year.

If that happens, we then put ourselves in a very strong position to attract that extra couple of elite players that start to make us a potential premiership squad in the next 3 years
