Mitch got the first grade spot initially because of Cam King pectoral injury that kept him out for six months.
Cam starting and Mitch coming off the bench was probably the plan, but it didn't work out and Mitch kept his spot because of his durability, defence and dummy half runs.
Unfortunately the rest of his game didn't really improve that much, especially the basic skill of good clean, fast ball from dummy half and just the general smarts and kicking game.
He may well go on to develop at the Penrith, but I think we've seen more upside in McInnes in the few games he's played.
