Morley Charged

Author: Sydney Roosters
Monday, 5 April 2004

Adrian Morley has been charged with a high tackle by the NRL judiciary.

The Grade 1 Careless high tackle charge carries a base penalty of only 75 points, but due to Morleys previous record with high tackles he faces 151 points for an early plea (one match) or 202 points if he contests the charge & is found guilty.

With important matches against Brisbane and the Knights in the next 2 weeks, the last thing the Roosters need is one of their star forwards watching on from the bench.

I'm a little shocked. I thought he'd be gone for 2-3 weeks easy. With an early plea, he'll only miss one game. I think he should cop it sweet and take the one week, then he should go and buy a lottery ticket or two.

But then again, who cares what I think!

He should get his arms amputated, and he'd have no further problems.
Gower should play like a man not a blouse wearing cat, then nobody would have a problem with nothing tackles.

extremely ignorant comment melon. Morley hit him flush across the chin, he'll be very lucky to miss just 1 game. I also think that the other roosters player (stuart webb i think) who broke luke swains jaw is pretty lucky too. I didnt think it was malicious but a minimum of 3 weeks for it isnt good enough imo. Oh btw melon, gower is one if the toughest players in the game. I remember reading a story in big league a couple of years back about how he got all four of his wisdom teeth removed in an operation during the off-season, yet he still rocked up for penrith's preseason training the next day. I think thats pretty tough, given when i had mine out i was popping pain killers constantly and didnt end up getting out of bed for a day or 2.

Why is it that whenever Morley hits someone high and they stay down for a while they're faking it according to Roosters supporters?

McLinden last year, now this. Just face facts. Morley hits high and they hurt. If he didn't hit them so high in the first place, they wouldn't be laying on the ground in pain. Show some common sense FFS

I just heard that he's copped an early plea for a one week suspension, but I haven't had that confirmed yet.

I think Morley was a windmill in a previous life. I can see him spending a fair bit of time on the sidelines this year unless he can change his tackling style.

As for Gower being a ' blouse wearing cat ', I beg to differ. Gowie has more guts than the entire roosters squad put together......and then some. He's got more balls than a Stoney Creek water hazard.

It was just on the radio.

Morley & Webb took the early plea.

So that would be Webb gone for 3 weeks?

I might have been on the 'b' grade comedy circuit, but with a name like muffdaddy, I'm tippin' you were on the 'b' grade porn circuit.......as a key grip!
