Thats a f**kload of pressure on Mcgegor - it's a quite simple equation ....
Perform or perish.. Time will tell

Isn’t Barrett’s contract extension breakdown more around the financials rather than any performance matters?

I would say yes. With Fulton leaving Manly Barrett has lost an ally so the Sea Eagles are probably trying to lowball him/performance clauses and he isn’t happy about it.

We do things very differently and we are well and truly stuck in the quick sand with Mc Fookknuckle.
No way our mob will break the deal within the time frame.

McGregor`s performance is not measured by normal criteria.
He has had 2 diabolical years at the helm and he is till there and looking pretty safe thanks to the idiots that supported his appointment in the first place.
If he was at any other club he would have been long gone by now.
BTW you forgot to mention Toovey in your list.

Mary is absolutely under pressure. He's got two international signings in key positions after a year when we missed the finals in a manner that would make the Wests 'out of the eight on for and against' Tigers blush. He's in a club that has publicly said they are building structures in the club that both support a coach but also make it much easier to replace them. If Mary has a bad start to the year with Hunt and Graham, he is absolutely gone.

Mate we would hope so , but what Im afraid of is, we could start the season well as we have with Mary previously and if we get run down again and fall over just making the 8 it will be a good year under Doust and the Boards eyes .......

Hazz, I think we have a pretty easy start as well don't we with lots of home games? We could well get off to a flyer again. Hopefully this time we don't run out of fuel at the halfway mark.

Not so sure there will be too many easy games next year
With all the salary cap issues being mentioned in the press I think some of the weaker teams may very well strengthen as stronger clubs have to offload
After all that is what the cap was supposed to do
Also much will depend on what our squad ultimately looks like as there are still some holes and potential losses
Last but not least it will then depend on what the team that takes the paddock looks like and I have little or no faith that they will get the initial composition right as we have waisted the trials at least the last 3 years and we have no form guide to say players not performing will be dropped.

There should be pressure on Mc Gregor but the only constructive criticism comes from this Forum. Our backs are not much better this year and the three-quarter line is erratic and unpredictable. Two good halves and eight good forwards do not win you games when the backline is slow and ponderous and young dashers are never given a go.

It is amazing what a difference one game makes. If Saints beat the crappy bulldogs side and make top 8, Mary would be safe as houses for at least all of next season. Because he lost I think the pressure will surely be back on him and it should. The way the season ended was pretty embarrassing and was the defining moment of a successful season to a poor one. It went like a seesaw with good wins over Manly, Titans and Panthers and poor loses to Knights, Bulldogs and Souths.

As soon as he or the team did something good to show he has some promise e.g dropped Dugan and put in a gutsy display against the Panthers, they/he follows it with rubbish.
