Well traffic is caused by people driving cars. Obviously then, increased traffic is caused by more people driving more cars. Since the birth rate is below the replacement rate we know the increased people are due to immigration. And because we're no longer making cars in Australia, the extra cars must be coming here from overseas as well.

Are immigrants "to blame" for traffic / shortage of housing or is it poor planning by governments who know the immigration numbers to our shores many years in advance ? * None of the figures are a surprise.

Building more houses devalues the houses that already exist. Building better roads and public transport devalues the houses located near all the jobs. Nobody in power wants that.
