    Life ban would be suitable.

Lol. Sides have given away deliberate penalties for decades. It's part of the game.

The team who receives the penalty is not obliged to take two points. If they do, then the defensive side's risk has paid off.

If only there was a way of penalising players for breaking the rules...you know like awarding a penalty.
If only there was a way of penalising players for repeatedly breaking the rules...you know like the sin bin.

Not sure this is the answer but I don't blame there thinking. Teams give penalties away on purpose so they can set there defensive line at the try line. An easier decision would be to allow the attacking team to make quick taps within 10m of the line. Currently you can't. Any player offside making a tackle on the quick tap player goes to the bin.

Could also bin a player for the teams 3rd penalty within the 10m line.

Just use the f**king sin bin instead of complicating things

That's fair enough but then you'll have idiot coaches and commentators saying that the decision was wrong. Sending someone to the bin is a grey area. Refs will be blamed. Every decision needs to be black and white because of idiots in our game that whinge and point fingers instead of looking at themselves.

    So?
Let's just have everyone win every game so no one is upset.

Lets enforce the rules that we already have in place rather then bring in new rules that we will ignore in a few years time.

Why are they so against a 5 minute sin bin?

Why are they so against a 10 minute sin bin? Which already exists. And they used perfectly over the weekend.

Why not just play a long advantage? A free play followed by a penalty if it fails

Only a dumb merkin would come up with such a suggestion.

Because more rules that are open to interpretation are needed.

Its not like they haven't already got the existing rules down pat.

If we keep adding rules then sooner or later one of them will be a good one and the game will be better for it.

    See... Perfectly logical.
