Wow indeed, so much right there but coaching under Gus is a hard gig I imagine

That said Griffen always seemed a strange appointment, mind you so does Kearney

Fmd back to back finals campaigns and equal fourth after 2 wins in a row.

Sacked.

By that reckoning Kearney would have been sacked in round 5 last year...

Griff even rocked-off a few trouble-makers but it still wasn't good enough.

Bloody hell, doesn't Gould know that the Panthers can win this year?

No one can coach under Gus. Not for any length of time anyway
You must be very subservient and do as you are told to survive.
Problem is you probably get tired like poor Ivan who is apparently set to return! Haha
There are a few quality coaches on the sideline.
Need an expanded competition to give them a spot.

What's the chance Griffen has been appointed elsewhere? And Gus knows.

Gonna be an interesting one to follow, already a few stories doing the rounds

Main one seems to be Ivan heading back there. Gus was saying last week how son would like to be coached by father, could be his way of keeping Nathan there. However I don't see Ivan as the sort of bloke who would walk out on the Tigers a year into what he is building there

Gus has stated many times that Bennett will not be coaching the Broncos on 2019, will the old enemies come together ? Would be an interesting mix

Hasler has ties to Penrith in the past

For the rest of this season however, I don't think he will be giving Ciraldo full control, I imagine Gus will be running things for the next 8 weeks, and that thought almost makes me want to throw some money on them

Yep, like him or hate him, the guy is a league savant, and unquestionably a great coach... now they have most of their players back (obviously not Wallace, Edwards and McKendry) they have a squad that's the envy of most

Huge decision, but everyone must have had a gutsful of Griffen, so I expect the players to respond, and a heavy hand of Gould in the coaching really makes them an interesting watch

Why would Ivan go back to a club that punted him to work under a guy who publicly threw him under the bus after one bad year?

If the Clearys are at the same club it'll be Wests.

The short answer is "to win a premiership" - not saying he will go back, but that's a talented group that any coach would be interested in coaching, surely?

As you guys mentioned, Ivan might be a candidate. How could he possibly feel secure in that role again?

Gus, the ogre, is everywhere. On bad days, while out on the field with training or worse, during games, even clouds could form in the shape of him.

Yep, might take a while to re-establish trust - but at the end of the day only Bellamy is secure long-term (even Bennett seems to be expendable) - and will be interesting to see how secure Bellamy is when/if Slater and Smith retire

Thing with Griffin is, winning usually ensures security - things must be fairly toxic

Yeah, someone mentioned here a year or so ago that there seems to be 'something rotten at Penrith'. But you can't have the 'kids' deciding who the 'teacher' is!

The Warriors know all about that and we know where that got us.

Sulking brats around the joint, can you imagine it? Poor Griff.

One story suggested Moylan wouldn't work with Griffen - at that point Gould arranged the swap with Cronulla - but things still stink, so I guess Griffen had to go - just the timing is breathtaking

Mole had in his piece today that it all fell apart during the off season, a few players were out and about and bumped into Ciraldo, who all the players love, and they had a coffee together. Upon learning of that Griffen pulled Ciraldo into his office, tore strips off him and told him not to socialise with the players again, and from that point Gould and co knew they had serious issues on their hands as Griffen was insecure about people taking his job, and he lost the players at that point as well

Let's sit back and see what happens now. If they win the comp, Gould will be statuised (that's not a real word, I know) in Penrith Plaza and Griff will feel aggrieved that it was his hard work that got them there.
