I don’t think Moses has the temperament for origin. If things go wrong than he would likely implode.

I don’t think we can pick either Roberts or Mitchell based on last night performance.

Mitchell: 5 Runs, 45meters, 6 tackles, 3 missed tackles, 4 errors

A piss poor effort.
Origin isn’t bout fancy plays.
I wouldn’t be picking him nor Roberts.

NSW coach Brad Fittler has given an update on the selection claims of James Maloney and Andrew Fifita in the build-up to Origin I.

James Maloney is one of the form playmakers in the competition, but his defence has come in for criticism from Fittler and his selection panel.

“I’ve seen the stats in the paper today and its about the missed tackles,” Fittler admitted on Triple M.

“Queensland have caught him out before in defence and I think a couple of games this year he has been caught out as well.
“He’s a fantastic player and you would always consider Jimmy (Maloney).
“But in saying that everyone needs to improve, especially if statistics are showing you are missing more tackles than anybody else in the game.

“But without a doubt watching what he does with the ball, he seems to have this confidence where he seems like he’s never beaten.

“I don’t think any team wouldn’t want that in their side.”

If Fifita is eligible, things could get interesting.

8. Paul Vaughan
9. Damien Cook
10. David Klemmer
11. Boyd Cordner/Tariq Sims
12. Tyson Frizell
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Cameron McInnes/Tyrone Peachey
15. Jack De Belin
16. Andrew Fifita
17. Reagan Campbell-Gillard

Tariq Sims will probably be the one who misses out because they'll go with Boyd Cordner on the left edge - although I don't agree with this.

I want the experience up front for those opening exchanges, while keeping Klemmer fresh.

I pondered Merrin up front, Frizell back to his usual spot, and dropping Crichton but I really like him as a player (and what kind of nutbag amputates part of their body just to play football - that's commitment), so I didn't.

Frizell isn't a frontrower though.

Won't win with Moylan at 6 and Mctortoise at hooker! That's handing it to QLD.

Crichton has some defensive deficiencies and I don't think he's quite there yet!
