Cook has had 2 good moments already in the first 5 mins...got a tough ball away to Elias who put Tua down the sideline for a short run. Then on the 2nd tackle of the Warriors next set, pushes their winger back in-goal with some help from Roberts.

Ireland is on the bench with what looks like a calf injury...seems that Pat Matautia is at fullback now

Score Warriors 6-0, 20 mins gone

Warriors definitely too good and won the physical battle so far, scored 2 quick tries just after 20 mins, score 18-0 at half time.

Sims copped a shoulder to the mouth region, and the commentators said he's just been taken to hospital as they think he may have broken his jaw

Lots of errors from us, but held out the Warriors on our line a few times in the last 10 mins of the first half.

Roberts tries the Benji 'look back at the 2nd man, throw the short ball' and gets Cook poking his nose through the line, who gets a great no look offload to Elias who scores.

Another super play from Cook, late in a very good set he nearly puts Redman through a gap (while playing at 1st receiver), and the desperate defence from the Warriors means they are short on numbers on one side of the field...Redman gets a quick play the ball, Cook gets it at 1st receiver again and notices that whats left of the Warriors defence is rushing up in hope of stopping an overlap...and Cook runs at the gap made and runs 10m to score.

Cook and Anderson our best by far...Warriors racking up a cricket score now and won't post it :p

Inside the NYC Sheds

The NYC Knights were defeated by the first-placed Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights were down to 15 men from just before half time; injuries sustained by Matt Ireland and Korbin Sims meant they played no further part in the game.
Coach Garth Brennan gave his thoughts on the game and also looks ahead to next week’s important game at Ausgrid Stadium...

Question: It was a tough assignment to come over here and play the team leading the competition. What did you make of the game?
Garth Brennan: They are a quality football side and we just didn’t stay in the battle for long enough. We were in there for patches but against a side like that you need to be in it for the whole 80 minutes.

Q: Would you agree the Knights started well?
GB: We came with the right idea and played how we wanted to in the early part of the game. Once we were put under pressure we started to get away from what we planned to do.

Q: With two of your players out before half time, it certainly didn’t make things any easier?
GB: We lost Matt at about the 15-minute mark and then Korbin just before half time with a broken jaw. Korbin has been one of our best players the last month, so it was certainly a big loss.

Q: Any other injury concerns?
GB: Josh Ailaomai had a bit of a sore ankle but the rest are okay.

Q: What positives can you take out of the game?
GB: I think we showed some real character. After losing Korbin and Matt the boys showed some courage to defend like we did against a side that is going to be hard to beat.

Q: In context of the season how important is next week’s game against Brisbane?
GB: It is grand final for us now. Brisbane jumped over us on the ladder after this result. Brisbane are a quality side, they have three or four players in their side in the top 25. It is going to be a challenge no doubt about it, but there are no tomorrow’s after next week if we don’t get the two-points.

Hmm that is an odd time for the game, looks like last weeks time...should start around 5pm on Monday.

Anyway looks like Tua is off to play Centurions again, with Mitch Williams back on the wing...Knight and Api both on the bench, with you'd guess Api to miss out.

In what universe is Mitch Williams better than Tua?

I'd love to know what's happened to Will Smith - must be injured still.

I suppose all the SG Ball guys are doing HSC trials about now - except Pat, who is probably thinking football as a career.

Will is injured.

I fail to see what Tua did in that game to be the only team change?

Good win 28-24

Morseau played and scored a double from fullback, and Api played lock, which is an interesting move. He is big enough for the forwards, and if he has the motor he is another Ethan Cook style ballplaying lock.

Also good to see big Jeremy Ma'a came onto the bench. If they can get him fit he is our Greg Inglis or Jamal Indris clone - big, freakish athlete.

Chad Redman has been playing less time at hooker all season. I hope that doesn't mean we have given up on turning him into a hooker, because he has a massive motor and defensive game and is the perfect build for hooker - he just doesn't have the dummy half skills of Chris Knight, but he can learn. The fact is that he will never be big enough to be a firstgrade forward or athletic enough to be a firstgrade back, but he will be a physical clone of Danny Buderus with the same big motor and big heart.

Sullivan has to be in the side, and it's about time we gave Api a decent run in his favourite position, and Chris Knight is great impact off the bench. This side probably is the best use of all the talent we have right now - ie all of the guns on the field, even if out of position.

Interesting reading the report on the match last week that Jeremy Ma'a was injured in the warmup and we beat the Broncos side with five firstgraders in it with just 16 men.

Apart from our loss to the Warriors we have been on a winning streak and we should just make the finals, and we have enough talent to give any side except the Warriors a decent challenge.

Wheres Korbin Sims?
More importantly, what has Jeremy been doing to become our number one bench forward?
Jeremy had a great start to the Ball season scoring 5 tries in the first two games, even though he was only playing about half a game - but mostly he missed a lot of games and looked very unfit for those he played in Ball.

He's one of the best juniors we've seen - 6'5", over 100kg easily, can run with the outside backs, scores nearly a try a game - and with all that he is a mean bugger who hurts people in attack and defence.
The big problem is that he hasn't ever been very fit.
For him to be our top bench forward this week, you would have to think he is a lot fitter than he was a few months ago, because he only had 30 minutes at Ball level in him last time I saw him play.
