SORRY FOR ASKING WITH PPL OF MASSIVE IQ's, soorrry for not been worthy amongsnt greatness PFF!

It’s a gas! Australian gas is a bargain … if you’re Japanese
Gas prices have gone through the roof. The big winners are a gas cartel of three producers, foreign buyers of Australian gas and investors who've made 1,300 per cent returns in a pipeline stock. Bruce Robertson and Michael West investigate.

In Japan, they pay a lot less for Australian gas than we do in Australia.

Last month, the spot price in Japan was $US4.27 per gigajoule whereas the average spot price paid in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide in June was $US6.87/GJ. Australian consumers paid, on average, 60 per cent more for gas produced in Australia than did our customers in Japan

(Thought I'd reply before this thread was shut down). Even that bastion of free enterprise the USA has a domestic reserve for gas. Our PM recently held a summit with the gas producers who made a few nice noises & motherhood statements and immediately went back to business as usual. It's like negative gearing- check out who among the pollies have vested interests.

Why would the thread get shut down?
No criticism of comment intended-just thought it wasn't exactly about NRL & moderator might have jumped on it. Since then I see Turnbull has taken further action & gas producers don't like it.

Diversity is good. We used to have more OT threads in the 'old days' so good on St Georgio for bringing back a bit of that variety.

I say let's talk more about politics and religion... what could possibly go wrong?
