Official: Fiji to join NSW Cup in 2019

Is this official yet? there's been nothing announced on Facebook. Maybe an official announcement after the World Cup.

Really excellent news and could be the final push needed to turn Fiji in to a genuine competitor for World Cups etc in the next 10 years.




Partner with New or existing NSW or QLD Cup teams to bring a home/s game there and set up annual trials for local players. Likewise with Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Hawaii etc if possible. Give every kid with talent in the Pacific their pathway tp the top.

My gut feeling with a team in Hawaii is that it has to have a path to the big time to be successful.
They have no historical affinity with the Rugby codes and have access to plenty of other top flight sport.

It will be good to have a non NRL feeder club in the NSW cup to support.

Assuming they don’t get a deal with a side.

Think it will have to be ratified with the NSWRL:.Still the only impediment holding it back prior, was lack of a sponsor.They got it.
