If he quits before he is thrown out of parliament (assuming that's what happens) then one nation lose a senate seat

Yes it certainly does echo the nuttiness of the one nation party when they got elected to the Queensland parliment and the disintegration of Clive palmer's party

Is it a problem with the senate, or is it a problem with the parties?

    I'd go the latter.

Yeah, I disagree. I think the double term adds moderation to voter whims. Face it, one nation wouldn't be having this issue if they had their shit together around pre-selection. They contested too many seats for the resources the party has. Palmer was the same.

Meanwhile in other news, Dick Smith has volunteered to help Pauline out with the campaign:

Any ounce of respect I had for Dick Smith has just been obliterated.

This isnt a surprise, Smith is australian first.
We have no real other parties that puts Australians first so people relate to One Nation and same with Katter.

So, to put "Australia first" you have to support a party like One Nation, a political party that has links to Australian Neo Nazis?

No, I think people disregard the negatives of the party for the positives that match their interests.
It's a reaction to the lack of connection to the public with Labor/Libs.

I had this debate with a mate over a few beers.

How does patriotism and national pride equate to right wing nationalism?

Why should nationalism be exclusive to the right?

Why should nationalism be equated to racism?
