Let's not forget he had absolutely nothing to do in the try.. just caught up from about 10m out

Very clearly there is something up with him as an individual player.

As well as those this year in club games he has the same amount of combined linebreak/try assists and tries as Moylan who the pro pearce people think is worse than him. I haven't compared him to Maloney/Reynolds etc. But it can't all be someone else's fault + not ready.

First and foremost I want a win and as "NSW best half" he worries me. I'd expect him to be well ahead in certain stats this year. Especially considering the good form of the Roosters.

Pearce's stats are comparable with his halves partners who were dumped after one series. That's embarrassing.

Then you look at JT"s absolutely insane SOO stats... 36 games, for 23 wins and 13 losses.

Though to be fair, a heap of his/Cronk/grub Smith's stats have been assisted hugly by facing some pretty horrible NSW sides.

It doesn't help Matt that he is not playing in the halves at club level. At least he's not wearing the jumper number of a half.

Like the side that has just been announced, these "horrible" NSW sides, every single one of them, were considered by those who count to be pretty damn good right up until kickoff.

I dunno, there were huge question marks over the likes of Wolfman, Turner, Merrritt, Buhrer, Walker (as a hooker/utility), Pearce, Kidley (captain from the bench), Beau Scott (as a centre) and McManus (among others) before their respective games.
Thankfully 6 of these players got 2 games or less (McManus got 3) in these positions before they were shafted or moved to a different position.
The other two have horrendous records and quite rightly these 'horrible' players have copped it from fans and media to be dropped.
