Well, the discussion was about the standard of the A League competition, relative to the standards of play evidence in other competitions around the world...

You're the one that introduced excitement as a factor to that discussion, and by admitting that it has nothing to do with determining standard of play you've gone full circle, and out the revolving door again...

#poulogic
I ask again, what standard are you applying here? It's entertainment. By that standard it ticks all the boxes. The only black marks against that standard are when clubs like Newcastle (and maybe Wellington and the Mariners) become unable to compete with the other clubs.

I stand by my opinion that he is a racist and bigot.

And I never claimed he was charged - I was simply refuting that he was "found not guilty" as someone had tried to claim.
Then how was he "lucky to be let off on technicalities" if he wasn't even charged? He wasn't found not guilty; he didn't even have a case to answer.

For what it's worth I think he probably did say what was claimed, but just like yours, my opinion is irrelevant here. Santalab is not guilty until he is found guilty. And he wasn't.

And because you're apparently slow to read and comprehend, I'll tell you again.

The discussion was about relative standards of play between domestic soccer leagues, and whether the A League is better than it's current assessed ranking.

That was before your #poulogic truism contribution about sport being entertainment diverted the conversation at hand...

No one is talking about being "charged".

I said Sanatlab is a racist and bigot. Your or Suity tried to claim he wasn't because an FFA hearing failed to find him guilty as accused (different from being "found not guilty", as was asserted).

I pointed out the difference between not being found guity (on technicalities of not enough corroborative evidence) and being found not guilty, and you come up with some lolfail contribution about him not having been "charged"?

But keep on deflecting Pou, you're in Trump like form lately...

Are you saying the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence?

The discussion was about whether it was worth watching. Until you deflected and made it about how much money (and therefore playing talent) is in other leagues. You couldn't f**king leave it alone that some people enjoy watching the local league so you had to deflect as usual and put shit on something other people enjoy. Because you're a Eurosnob you can't cope that Australians might care more about Australian clubs than massively rich clubs in Europe. You're a dick.

I think he probably is too. But without proof you're just making allegations. That says more about you than it does him.

Yeah well you started it.

Lol, classy response...

Hope you don't have too bad a hangover after last night's UDLs.

Nikolai Topor-Stanley ANZ Stadium
Farewell, legend.
Tuesday, 18 October 2016 -
@wswanderersfc
The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers have today officially said farewell to departing captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley who has signed with a club in the United Arab Emirates.
Following four incredible seasons in the Red & Black, two as captain, which saw him play in three Grand Finals and win a Champions League and Premiers Plate, Nikolai leaves with the blessing of the club.

“Nikolai was a consummate professional on and off the pitch. His dedication did not just exist at the training ground and on game days, but to the philosophy at the core of our club,” said Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas.

“He was a core part to our successes both domestically and internationally and his efforts earned him wide praise including a Socceroos call-up and many plaudits from our members and his peers.

“While he leaves us at the beginning of our season, his attitude has been flawless and we commend him on his time with us and wish him well for this next chapter in his career.”

With 125 appearances for the Wanderers including 103 Hyundai A-League, 14 AFC Champions League, five Westfield FFA Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup appearance, Nikolai was an ever present for the Wanderers and was selected in the PFA Team of the Year in the 2012/13 & 2015/16 seasons as well as winning the Wanderers Medal in 2015 and Members Player of the Year in 2013.

In 2013 Nikolai was also selected in the FFA’s maiden Foxtel A-League All Stars side that took on Manchester United.

In his farewell message from the UAE, where he has already begun training, Topor-Stanley reflected on his time at the Club.

“In football, opportunities such as this rarely come around and when it was presented to me I knew that it was something I had to explore,” said Topor-Stanley.

“I would like to express my upmost gratitude to the Club for allowing me to pursue this opportunity both from a personal and professional level. I have always wanted to test myself overseas and this is a great chance for me to experience a different culture in life and in football.

“Firstly I want to thank all my teammates, coaching staff, backroom staff and volunteers past and present that made the last four and a bit years the best of my career so far. The Wanderers is a special club that in so little time has captured a nation and I'm sure it's only the beginning of more great times ahead.

“It has been an honour and a humbling experience to be able to say I was and am a part of the history of this Club and I will always hold that close to my heart.

“I consider myself fortunate to have played one game for this club, but to have made over 100 appearances and being given the responsibility to lead the team for the past two seasons was the highest honour.

“While I won’t list and gloat about the achievements this Cub has made, I can truly say that every year the expectation was to win everything in which we competed.

“He might not like me saying this but a huge part of the whole Club’s success is down to the vision, drive and leadership of Tony Popovic that has spread throughout everyone at the club to strive for the highest achievement. For this I want to thank him for believing in me and giving me the chance to join this Club.

“The standards off the pitch are just as high though. Engaging with fans has and always will be the lifeblood of this Club and together we have all created something magical. Anyone who has been to a Wanderers match knows the feeling and the energy that is created on a match day is difficult to put into words.

“This Club belongs to anyone who wants to be involved. It transcends gender, racial and cultural background and to me epitomises what Australia is all about. To all the members and fans that support this team I would like to thank you all for everything we have shared. You made my time a very special one and we will always be connected.

“Football has an unpredictable nature and although it is goodbye for now you never know when our paths might cross again.”

Despite not being the most talented footballer to ever pull on a pair of boots, he has been a loyal and dedicated servant of the Wanderers. Over 100 games in 4 seasons is a pretty fair effort.
Well done Topor, and good luck.
