The Matts game will go down to the wire, Manly have come to the finals with a wet sail. Had a massive win over Illawarra past week, who were the only team to get the better of the Eels.

Their captain, Schuster, is a Mounties player who we tried to keep , but Manly gave him a big offer. Hopoate and their halfback and prop are dangerous players. Parra are without 2 first choice forwards in Henry Hall and Albert Vaave, fingers crossed for a good result

I did notice that Illawarra were without their best player, Aaron Schoupp, but still a scoreline of 46-6 is nothing to baulk at. Manly also have another Turbo brother in that team so there's certainly some class amongst their squad. Fingers crossed the attitude of our players get us across the line in this game, going to be a tough one after a week off.

How do you see the SG Ball playing out?

Believe the Ball should make it to the GF, they have been nothing short of remarkable given the players that are in NYC that would still qualify for Ball

They have strike across their backline, and some decent edge forwards too, will still be a battle as all the teams left in the final 4 in the Ball are very competitive, wouldn't surprise to see a win by as little as 4 points

From today's team I think the following graduate at the end of the year:

Anthony Layoun
Greg Leleisiuao
Dane Aukafolau
Kamren Cryer
Dean Matterson
Denzal Tonise
Ray Stone

Everyone else either has 1, 2 or 3 years of NYC eligibility left.
GL
Dane
Stone

Maybe Tonise. Rest let go.

Mahoney is the one who looks the most promising out of the dummy halfs, both centres, back rowers and the Tiny Dancer all look like they could go to the next level.

Tui, and Filia both only turn 18 this year. Salesi turns 19 this year. All 3 are immense talents and in this case of Tui and Salesi I don't think either are being used to their full potential, both have some fantastic ball skills but are being used as battering rams (which they're both doing well at). I'd love to see him outside a half who knows how to use them.

In the Matts, Manly have selected a bigger side than previously, moving Trbojevic to centre from back row and filling their forwards with size. The 2 games they lost was when their captain, Schuster was out, he is a major threat being dominant in our Div 1 in age groups.

We seem to have selected a team with grunt off the bench too, unfortunately I can't make the game due to family sport, but will be in contact with people there .

Expect a close game , not as confident as if we were playing the competition favourites in Newcastle , just think we can handle them with the physicality we have up front , Manly on the other hand are more than a dark horse as they have recruited well in this age group.

The close game against the Knights affected them, but agree Manly were on fire. Must stop Schuster from offloading, and kick away/out from Hopoate.

Penriths under 20s are tearing broncos a new one. Our boys should of and could of won against them. Considering two of our best prospects in Dressler and Dargan are out of the team it does look a good side.

I reckon from what ive seen its our best under 20s team ive seen. Can really see them getting better and better and if Dargan drops back winning it.

The 2014 side was better. These guys have all played NRL:

Li
Folau
Davis
Matterson
Aloiai
Moeroa
Pauli
Tanginoa
Kritchard
Kamikamica

Plus Goodall, Lavaka and Dockar-Clay all scored NRL contracts. That's more first grade than you get out of most NYC squads.

The 2014 squad were a team that excelled in the Holden Cup arena but not so much in the senior grades. Still, they were a formidable outfit for the U/20 grade.

The 2017 crop are looking pretty handy though and they still have plenty of room to grow given the relative inexperience of the team. Hopefully they pan out a great deal better in regards to the NRL compared to the 2014 class. In addition to Steve Dresler and Troy Dargan they are also without Michael Tupou who is a dynamic lock forward and would have been an awesome bench weapon.

Whenever the SG Ball wraps up (we play in the qualifying final against the Roosters on Saturday) I expect several players to come into contention for the 20s.

They are raw and will blow the chance to win some tight games, just like against Penrith, but they sure are exciting to watch.

A lot of that team was good due to size of forwards.
This side has the talent in the backline.
