Penalty Count 2017

The Fifita incident to me, proved how much of a shit ref Maxwell is. I am not blaming the ref in anyway for us losing, but McCrone was laying in the ruck holding Fifitas leg a long time before he pushed him in the face.
Stupid of Fifita to push him though, he needs to rid himself of these snaps.

Luke Lewis belting a bloke after the ball went dead was another stupid one to give away.
Last year we were very well disciplined, but that has come unstuck in the opening rounds.

IMO should've been a penalty to us, but no reason why we didn't get the win. Smarter move would've been Fifita to embellish being 'tripped' in trying to get up to play the ball. Hindsight, 20/20, etc.

Lewis... WTF??

Anyway, zero excuses. Our own worst enemy atm. I'm confident the discipline will improve.

Yes the ref could've intervened but it's Fifita & he was waiting for it.

He only has himself to blame, I'd say the ref was about to penalise but changed his mind.

When I was a young fellah playing league nearly every side had a big dumb kid.

It appears that some of the top sides have them too.

It was an incident that highlighted the flaws in both Fifita and Cummins.

Fifita has no credibility with refs due to repeated stupidity. His flopping on the ground a few minutes prior is evidence. He needs to get his head straight, use his power and play footy. Leave the guile to Cameron Smith.

Cummins has no feel for the game and no common sense. He should have seen that McCrone was milking it to slow down the Sharks and simply should have told Fifita to get up and play the ball. Blowing the penalty at that time in the game and in that position of the field was an unnecessary intervention.

Either way the lack of discipline needs to be fixed. Can't win games conceding that many penalties.

You want to talk about stupid penalties.

Then Ricky's dragging of the bloke lying on the ground in to touch tops them all.

Lewis's penalty actually rewarded us. Turned a 7 tackle set into a 6 tackle set after they made about 3m on the touch finder.

Our discipline is a huge problem. It puts you on the back foot and leaves you less Margain for error with kicking and handling.

Sort it out flanno.

Discipline will have to be exceptional there.
Maybe Shane Hayne coud give the boys a few tips at training this week.
He was always able to point out a few faults in our discipline when we played Parra.

Well said.

it is unfortunate we have penalty magnets like Maloney and Fifita in our team, the 50/50s in those situations are never going to go our way so those players need to be smarter.
