My thoughts exactly PR.

But from what i heard if you don't intend on going away for the state side you wont be picked for the ANZAC game which keeps your usual suspects out like Jason Godecke, Ryan Dickson, Matt Doeg. Also with the retirement of Craig Philis and Tyron Cranston leaving to QLD it does drop the squad down a bit.

Looks like a new era for WA State Team with the younger guys to make a name for themselves.

With the lads now getting experience in the SG Ball side it can only make the WARL players better as time goes on.

I still think there should be either:

(A): A Rep tri-nations within WA. We already have the Perth City team, a Maori RL Team & Pacific Islanders team in Western Australia with probably more credit than 3 teams into 2.

or

(B): A Team from Perth and a team from the pilbara RL Competition, WA has a hell of a lot of rugby players in the pilbara due to FIFO and mining jobs, why not use them to show cast a game.

DONT THINK OUTSIDE THE SQUARE WARL... we know you can only do 1 thing different a year, and i am 100% certain its moving from a coffee to a tea....

I agree Benny.

With the influx of Pommies now in the WARL maybe the league can look at a Tri-Nations at the end of every year.

Aussie's Vs Kiwis Vs Poms

Played over 4 weekends

WEEK 1
Saturday Afternoon
Aussies Vs Kiwis

Sunday Afternoon
Kiwis Vs Poms

WEEK 2
Saturday Afternoon
Aussies Vs Poms

Sunday Afternoon
Aussies Vs Kiwis

WEEK 3
Saturday Afternoon
Kiwis Vs Poms

Sunday Afternoon
Aussies Vs Poms

WEEK 4
Saturday Afternoon
Top 2 teams play eachother

each game played at a different venue around the WARL to promote Rugby League with the Final played at NIB

Not hard to organize!!

Well if there's enough Islanders in the comp you could achieve the same length with 4 teams -

W1
WA Aussies vs WA Islanders
WA Kiwis vs WA Brits (to encourage other Brit players etc)

W2
WA Aussies vs WA Kiwis
WA Brits vs WA Islanders

W3
WA Aussies vs WA Brits
WA Kiwis vs WA Islanders

W4
Final if need be, but I'd just have Week 3 as a double header as it probably has the most enticing game combinations

That said I honestly have no idea how many player there are to field each team.

What about a tri series between North of the river, south of the river and "country"

North - Joondalup, North Beach and Kalamunda
South - South Perth Fremantle Willagee and Rockingham
Country - Bunbury, Goldfields and Pilbara

Thats a good idea the Joondalup Giant but if they are going to do it they need to entice the 'Public'.

Think of the amount of Kiwis/Pacific Islanders and Great Britain people there are living in Perth.

They need to entice the Perth Public and spread the game. The WARL needs to this outside the square!

I noticed an ad in the paper for a Maori event today at Claremont around the start of the Maori new year celebrations. Maybe we should look to combine with it next year?

Good to see the above advert run in the West yesterday.
