GI says goodbye to No.1 in Bunnies gamble
BIG CALL WHAT’S THE BUZZ with JAMES PHELPS: Greg Inglis is set to make a full-time switch to the centres in a positional gamble that could make or break South Sydney’s year.
Was there any more to this article??
Can’t access it
The big question would be who goes to fullback?
This was on another forum.
Rabbitohs set to switch Greg Inglis to the centres in a gamble that could make or break their year
GREG Inglis is set to make a full-time switch to the centres in a positional gamble that could make or break South Sydney’s year.
Having establishing himself as one of NRL’s most lethal fullbacks, Inglis’ seven-year stint as a No.1 is expected to end this year with the freakish back to return to the position where he first became an NRL star.
Returning from the injury that sidelined him from round one last year, Inglis has spent the summer training at centre with young gun Alex Johnston moved to fullback.
WHAT’S THE BUZZ: Saint, sinner, shoosh

In what will be the first major decision of his coaching career, rookie coach Anthony Siebold will make the positional call in a bid to extend Inglis’ career. With concerns lingering over Inglis’ knee, a switch to the centres is expected to the 105kg flyer from the rigours faced by an NRL fullback.
While Inglis will be forced to make more tackles as a centre, he will be spared the gigantic collisions fullbacks are exposed to while returning the ball.
Inglis established himself as the best centre in rugby league during his all-conquering stint with the Melbourne Storm.
He has started 72 of his 242 NRL games in the centres, but only two of those have come since April, 2012.
Inglis has won a Golden Boot for best player in the world while wearing the No.1 while also leading the Rabbitohs to a premiership in 2014.
Whose the writer of the article?
It sounds like they have read too many forums.
Cook to #1 Farah to #9???
It says James Phelps is the writer.
I wouldn’t be moving GI unless we recruit a fullback.
My dreams in a perfect world would be,bye bye Crichton, welcome Mitchell!
Kikau is a great shout.
1. The journalists have no idea so it probably won’t happen
2. If it did Johnson would be fullback
Cook played well at fullback in Rd26 last season.
What about Jesse Arthars?
We have about five potential fullbacks, a fullback is just a winger who fancies he’s worth a few extra bob than the rest of the backline
Under contract until the end of 2019
If this is legit, it's a great move.
AJ really improved at fullback at the end of last season (particularly his ball playing) and the spine of AJ/Walker/Reynolds/Cook gelled really well together.
Plus it gives us a world class strike weapon on either side of the field and will prolong G.I's career
Most likely just paper talk.........but it could happen.
If AJ is moved to fullback we could be short in one more wing position unless we pick up Fergo.
I think we're done recruiting for 2018 and I wouldn't want Fergo anyway. Bloke is a complete dickhead.
Between Graham/Kennar/Jennings/Hunt/Arthars/Burns/Gagan/Taukamo/Hiroti i think we have enough guys capable of stepping up.
f**k Fergo, we didn’t buy the blokes we already have to play reserve grade, we have plenty of options
Some of you blokes need to stop looking for gratification through signings, it’s like a drug, a trigger, you get some kind of chemical reaction through a new player coming on board
Separate names with a comma.
