    Sounds like a promising idea.

The timing is very strange seeing as Whitehaven have just put out the gofundme begging bowl to raise Β£60,000 to help them finish the season.

Red Star have the funds for such a venture?

This is a fantastic turn of events! And far more realistic than Red Star Belgrade entering League 1 any time soon! Perhaps they could start off by playing 2 of their home matches per year in Belgrade (wearing Red Star colours) to guage support and then take it from there.

One thing they need to overcome if any Serbian players come to the UK is the visa issue. Serbia are not in the EU so I think a working visa might be difficult to acquire. Time will tell.

Why would a working visa be difficult to obtain? Easily obtained...

Partnerships like this are key to improving the European countries that don't have the benefit of professional heritage players.
When the going gets tough in the qualifiers, Serbia will advantage from this.

If the visa issue is their biggest hurdle to this deal happening, then things are looking good. Visas might be difficult for the average Joe, but if a club is trying to sign one of them, then it will make it way easier. Like how an employer will give a sponsored visa.

Also, assuming this deal happens today, there will be minimal (if any) local Red Star players currently capable of getting a spot in the Whitehaven 17 on matchday. So some of you are jumping the gun a bit.
