Please don't . . . then again I suppose I deserve it for making a cryptic remark about what cricketers get paid in comparison to RL players

What does 'Brooks & Reynolds' conjure up . . . solicitors, accountants, investment councilors. If you're a RL connoisseur you'd hardly take your business to them, the title wouldn't envisage competency between the ears. They'd have as much chance as anyone in a game of two-up however, I like two-up almost as much as I like RL because you only have to break even to have a good day . . . RL on the other hand

The most interesting thing about B&R is imagining what metamorphosis will take place, will it turn into Cleary & Brooks or Cleary & Reynolds. More importantly, knowing the metamorphosis is a certainty how will B and R impress Ivan, will each try to be a standout, will each try to bypass the other or will both try to prove they're better at cohesion

My money's on C&R, the only problem is can Ivan disregard a local icon . . . Brooks>Johnson . . . deja vu

Souths need Cody Walker but if the rumour his contract was first offered at half of Reynolds' it gives some idea of how much a waste of time it is playing for the Rabbitohs. Crichton knows it, Inglis relies on 'Souffs' style stupidity and Cody needs much more money to put up with it

Adam Reynolds is probably the best part-time player in the game, when he's on the field and running on two legs he's a marvel . . . his absenteeism is also comical. Walker should do a Keary and go where he might find a stable position with stable spine partners

The Raiders need a better half, one that could make the spine realise it's full potential when Hodgson returns. Souths only deserve Sezer, maybe a swap could be organized. Canberra is just one club that could make better use of Walker, the Seagles could use another one, the Dogs . . . who else

A 130 kilo Tongan would walk straight into an U/12's team but as the age goes up so do the expectations. The damage caused in Junior League is finally replaced by reality, not saying that's how Moses Suli got to the point of playing NRL but his weight predicament is a reminder to many mums and dads of why they banned their little boy from playing

It is what it is, flab is not out of place at the Bulldogs and Cleary is not impressed by it, simple arithmetic. I would've thought the Kasiano lesson would apply, maybe Dean thinks he's stolen a march on Ivan, return the Dogs to the old ways and send Moses Suli to the garbage trucks to get fit . . . wonder if Dean knows men don't run behind trucks these days willing to lose a finger

It could be that Ivan is not wanting to continue the Tigers' Too Hard Basket trend of recent years, wants his mob to be all on the same page . . . or it could be Moses will free up a lot of money in case a really good buy 'pops' up

Not the place for it but how f**king good was the Hurricanes smacking the Scorchers, it's doubtful the arrogance of Perth will allow an NRL team to play in their new stadium on a regular basis so it will it be great to see the joint empty on Sunday

No different I suppose at AAMI or Suncorp but the pisspoor atmosphere and cold reception at the Crabtrap when their team is losing hopefully isn't as overbearing when RL comes to WA. Maybe RL supporters who can't afford a $12 fishfinger and lettuce hamburger and have to suffice with a suburban venue will be a little more appreciative of an opposition playing well

Gilchrist was my favourite Cricketer but seeing the smirk/enthusiasm removed was priceless, a RL team in WA will no doubt end up being stacked to the rafters with greatness, maybe even surpassing the jealousy of Melbourne . . . in the meantime, go the purple

Sterling reinforces 'legendary players make lousy coaches' when he prefers Hayne at #1 because his defence is not good enough for Centre . . . thank f**k Freddie is only the front man for NSW

Semi is not going to return to RL after all, he's actually one Parra player that was really worth chasing for a different code. Bernie Gurr could be the Eels' greatest signing because he knew Semi would never return from the get-go, 'foresight' a new tool in the Parra shed

Cleary and Reynolds both avid NFL Eagles followers but we can't hold that against them . . . hard to separate them lately

RL is officially recognized as a sport now . . . kinda. Now I can sleep better at night, makes my Fox subscription worth it

Raiders are just a supercoach away from glory but news from the joint is akin to winning the lottery with hopes Hodgson might be back early . . . ramping up Sezer's contract is not being able to find the ticket

I think Sterlo is factoring in that the NSW centre needs to defend outside of James Maloney who is arguably the worst defensive player in the history of the code. You almost need a specialist defensive centre or at least a guy who has played there all of their career in order to be able to cover for James.

But on the other hand Sterlo also probably realises that NSW has a history of winning when Hayne is fullback. If he is back to even close to his best he is the man for the job.

Jarryd will be vying for the worst 'positional in defence' Fullback in the game given the responsibility the #1 has these days. He'll struggle to get across the field for 80 let alone up it, unlike '09 his team mates in the backs are far superior

You think and I hope Freddie is dumb enough to pick Hayne for NSW, I hope Arthur is not dumb enough to pick him for Parra, which is what Sterlo was referring to. I doubt Hayne could keep up with the speed of ESL and I certainly don't want French playing #1 for NSW . . . I left a 'thank you' for the bump

If Hayne was to play fullback for either Parra or NSW this year, it'd be a return to his form of 2014 i'd want to see over that of 2009.

In 09 his poor positioning was easily overlooked for his attacking brilliance, in 2014, it didn't need to be,

Finally, a realistic assessment in which I'll not find a reason for sarcasm . . . although I point out that your 'if' can only come from a supreme optimist

I reckon given the reported price and the one year deal, the Eels have contracted Hayne believing they can get better value out of him than the Titans did last year, but would not expect him to have anywhere near the impact he had in 09 - 14.

Where are you coming up with this poor positioning thing? Can you think of an example?

09 was his first year as a full time Nrl fullback so no doubt he got better at the finer details as he got older. But why wouldn't we want the 09 attacking version with the obvious/natural maturing he has picked up re positioning?

He isn't going to have the expectation of having to do everything as he did in 09 - 14. The question is going to be how will he handle that. Taking a bit of a back seat to a certain extent.
I have no doubt that unless injury hampers him he is going to be superb.

I watched him play.

Because at some point reality has to kick in, we won't see anything like the back end of 09 from him again, he no longer has the speed nor the agility to reproduce that.

Your doubt comes from a supreme hater. With respect, you have a poor perspective on Hayne. You seem to think all players need to be in that brainless Bellamy robot soldier mold. The Maloney type.

I'll never hate any RL player, that's for Wankerlanders. I don't know why you bother with me, you're wasting your time, you'd be a better match for Albert

Hodkinson moving on and Cogger not staying past '18 is a relief, nothing against either player but 'it's imperative Brock Lamb stays a Knight. If Connor Watson had a footy brain to go with the Chicken Hawk enthusiasm he might've made an integral spine player but imo he's a perfect #14

Brown will know not to kneejerk, to keep Lamb's learning curve on the up is more important than early bravado, the coach doesn't need to rip, shit or bust, steady as she goes for one more year. Imo Lamb is less a challenge than Ponga but all going well a great threesome should be in place by '19

Only thing left remaining will be to find a top class #9, 14 clubs are looking for one of those since the bar has risen but there must be youngsters out there working on it . . . Boxhead the best of the old school but not a pass mark today
