Shit, lost him again.
Here's a delightful story brought to you by the Catholic cult. Remember, this sort of thing doesn't go on any more and without religions we wouldn't know right from wrong.
In principle if the woman was able to give consent then really I don't have a problem with this. It's a problem for people who believe in the righteousness of the ridiculous rules of the cult but not for the rest of us. However if she was not able to give consent, it's no better than the usual pedophilia we expect from Catholic priests.
In the words of the late, great Christopher Hitchens "You can get away with the most extraordinary offences to morality and truth if you can just get yourself called Reverend".

is she mentally retarded or is it a physical disablility she is afflicted with and did god cause her to smited as such and therefore complicit in this ghastly scenario.
Ms Herrick was a shy 19-year-old with bilateral congenital hip dysplasia - a condition causing her to walk with a highly abnormal gait - when her family's priest, Father Knowles, cultivated a relationship with her at his church, Our Lady of Dolours, in Chatswood. Ms Herrick's later psychological reports say she was being groomed.
When Ms Herrick turned 22, Father Knowles, who was then 30, unexpectedly initiated intercourse with her, an act she describes as unpleasant and painful but one she felt powerless to stop because of his position. It was the first time Ms Herrick had had sex.

It's still breaking an oath, which should still be a problem to honest people. Unless promises, oaths and vows and the taking of them mean so little to people now.

I can't remember if I ever posted this or not, may have just shown a few friends.
Evolution is not a theory. It is a fact, every bit as much as the historical fact that William the Conqueror landed in 1066. Indeed, more so, because all we have to tell us about William are a few bits of paper here or there - not very much at all. For evolution we have much more evidence: palaeontology, embryology, biology, geology.

No wonder religious nutters want him dead.
I've come to the conclusion that this is essentially a meaningless debate, whilst it's all well and good to laugh at the mentally handicapped, this discussion really should take a back seat to an exchange on freedom/voluntarism and totalitarian/enforcement.
Feel free to start that thread WYD. None of us pretends that we're "making a difference" bagging religions. The debate that follows is often stimulating and often futile.
