Pfft hahaha some of you people crack me up.

Oooh I saw some people eating hot chips in a bucket. We don't want the world to think we're a low class sport who eats low class food! That's not the best look for our World Cup!
youre an idiot
lets play games at cow paddocks & call ourselves relevant lol

Stand behind the goal posts is pretty decent. Good that the Tongan fans stand, makes it look more than there is. Maybe 5,000?

Not as full as we'd like. But still looks ok. Would be nice to get the Sydney Lebanon fans with the Hamilton Tongan fans!!

Can't blame the weather! Also wonder if some stayed home so they don't miss the start of the Kiwis match.

It looked good on TV IMO. If anything the 1000s of empty seats we're going to see today and tomorrow are a worse look than people having a fantastic time watching RL on a hill.

which is the entire issue with the entire event , ridiculous scheduling , venue choice , ticket pricing , on top of the fact sides winning no pool games qualified for the quarters ahead of sides that won 2 & didn't

its a mess

I think it looks decent on tv for two non-home nation teams in a non-RL city
Although a RU city (like most NZ cities), Christchurch has a proud RL history & is probably NZ's second biggest RL city behind Akld ( playing numbers). The unfortunate part is that the Tongan community live mainly in Akld not the South Island.
It's a shame that the general sporting public haven't turned up to this game. As mentioned above, Lebanese (as immigrants) did not make it to NZ, stopping in the West of Sydney.

Is this the stadium that is owned by Canterbury Rugby League, “rugby league park”?

Looks a good size for a future nrl franchise!

Weird little stadium, the players shadows on the ground looked like the joint runs E-W but on google maps it runs NW-SE which is a bit strange.

If the capacity it 18k, I’d say there is just on 10k there today.

Spot on Raiderdave! It's been a shambles as far as ticketing, scheduling and even people trying to purchase tickets. Amazingly inept. Thankfully the footy and tv ratings have been great!

Some did. Emigrated to NZ (Wellington in the instance I’m quoting) thence some of them to Sydney.

Relevant to what?

Reach further for pointless negativity, go on

Freakin' hills are a bad look now. Too bad all those German and Japanese and Canadian supporters will be scared off now that they've seen some green grass.

play games , quarter finals no less of a freakin world cup in tin pot 4th rate venues
then we'll look like a tin pot 4th rate event

both quarters finals should have been double headers in proper venues
