One round to play, top four settled, will just come down the Asquith's game verse Blacktown; if they won they finish third and play Wenty, lose and finish fourth and drop below Windsor, to play Mounties.

Bottom 8 is where its interesting. If Burwood beat Wests on Tuesday night, there woll be two points seperating fifth and tenth. Im tipping Burwood and Wests to sneak in at 7&8 at the expense of Cabra and Guildford. Burwood verse Cabra will effectively be a playoff for a finals spot with the losers season all over.

At least 600 which is huge for RMC level. Spewing I chose the NRL game over it, sounded like a better atmosphere and day

Here is a notice on the NSWRL website for the Sydney Shield:

Windsor Wolves have been penalised two competition points as a breach notice for playing an unregistered player. Due to technical difficulties outside of NSWRL's control, the two points can not be deducted from Windsor's record on the table.

It puts Windsor, Mounties & Pennisula on 28 points with Hills up their clacker on 27.

It makes for a enthralling last round. Anyone want to have a stab at the final make up of the 8 plus top 4 before this round commences?

Technical difficulties? I suppose that's their euphemism for not having someone who can properly run the website or write/understand code.

Just curious Magpie, why do you follow Hills with such an interest? I would have thought being a Wests fan you'd be more interested in the Magpies in RMC?

Yeah, some blood there mate. And as they say, blood is even thicker than magpie spirit. Than again if the Wests management had any nous upstairs they would put an offer on the table too hard for him to refuse.

I give my left nut to see the lad play in the black and white with that magpie emblem.

Burwood won their make up game with Wests tonight.

It means, assuming Mounties defeat Guildford and Wests hammer Guildford this weekend, that the final spot in the 8 will be decided by Cabramatta verse Burwood. It will effectively be an extra week of knock out finals for one of these teams.

Windsor have the bye so they finish second unless Peninsula beat Blacktown by 54 or Mounties beat Guildford by 79.

Well the 8 is decided in the Shield, now dependant on the results from tomorrow's games - Hills can finish 4th, 5th or 6th, Mounties 4th or 5th, Guildford 7th or 8th.

I reckon Hills might have been hoping Blacktown knocked over Pennisula and it looks like it was a close one.

RMC spots for 7 and 8 are dependant on tomorrow's results.

Blacktown have lost stacks of games by a few points. They were ahead before Ryan Oldfield playing only his 3rd game for the season scored his 3rd try of the game. Peninsula are a shadow of the team from last season. For the second game in a row they had only 16 including Josh Hall called up from A grade after his team were eliminated and the brother of another player making up the numbers.

In RMC, the 42-37 scoreline suggests that Auburn may have been ahead. 7 tries each with Wenty having superior goal kicking.

hills flogged cabra, but guildford couldn't do them a favour going down to mounties in a close one.

So hills 5th, but suffered two major injuries in the 1st half - Hogan their fullback - hamstring & Utoikimanu - neck & shoulder. Trying time for coach Griffin. I think they can go all the way but may not without these two players.

Burwood defeated Cabramatta to make the finals. Guildford have upset Mounties too, which means the red-hot Western Suburbs will bow out and Guildford have saved their spot in the finals. Guildford were up 24-4 with 20 minutes to go and just held on with Mounties bringing it back to 24-22.

Mounties vs Windsor
Wenty vs Asquith

Guildford vs Auburn
Concord-Burwood vs Blacktown

In the RMC Mounties have suffered their second loss of the season, going down 24-22 to Guildford after the Owls led 18-4 at half time. With Concord Burwood beating Cabra easily, this means that after 24 weeks Cabra and Wests are the bottom 2 teams and have no further games.

The RMC tomorrow is like an additional round but seeded. In the normal season there are 5 fixtures but one has Kingsgrove so really only 4 games and tomorrow there are 4 games.

Semis

Mounties 18W 2L vs Windsor 12W 8L. Mounties have been the outstanding team. Windsor have won several close games but suffered quite a few floggings including 2 by Mounties so Windsor's FA is negative and only superior to Wests and Kingsgrove. Windsor's recent form is reasonable with 3 wins in the last 5 games including over Asquith and Wenty.

Wenty 14W 6L vs Asquith 12W 8L. For much of the season Wenty were obvious challenger but lost 4 games in a row before a close win over Auburn last week. Asquith's recent form has been reasonable with 3 wins in the last 5 games including over Wenty.

Tier B

Concord Burwood 10W 9L 1D vs Blacktown 9W 11L. After a very poor first half Concord has been in form recently with 4 wins and a draw in the last 5 games. Coversely, Blacktown had a good run in the middle of the season before a horror finish with only a win over Kingsgrove in their last 5 games.

Guildford 10W 9L 1D vs Auburn 9W 11L. Guildford has been in good form with 3 wins and a draw in the last 5 games including victories over the top 2 teams. Auburn lost 4 of their last 5 games with Asquith being their only success.

Back from the Hills v Guildford semi in the shield. Hills 38 v Guildford 8. Comprehensive win to Hills, only concern would be the Hills fullback off early in the 2nd half with an aggravation of the hamstring injury from last week.
