Not too much to say about that. Got the two points, we could be in the 8 after the bye and we'll have Mansour back. Hell of a lot of work to do but at least we are in touch coming into the period of the year where it traditionally comes together for us.

I think the turning point today was Kikau coming on. His charges and contact in defence turned the tide and Merrin, Tamou, Latu etc all fired up off the back of it.

Outside of that, I continue to be hugely impressed by Cleary in defence. He's almost always there in cover defence and always puts his body on the line when the big guys run at him. Sparkling attitude.

How frustrating are those penalties in the opposition 30m!?

16 man bench for 65 minutes and 15 man for 35 minutes. I didn't expect a come back.

Just looking back at the game and has anyone noticed the team turns really bad after something goes wrong in the first half. Today it was a 7 tackle set of a Cleary kick. Last week it was a Cleary kick again. The Broncos game it was the no try at the start. We looked the better team in all 3 of those games until those points.

It was Newcastle. They have 2 maybe 3 first grade quality players

Was that at me? There was more to my point than todays game. There's this weird thing they go through in games I've noticed re watching the start of games.

Griffin still needs to go. I don't know what he's doing that they have the mental fortitude of marshmallows.

Well played Penrith. Imagine what you could do if you got out of the gates!

As a Knights fan I am a little frustrated with our 2nd half but monentum is a killer. I think a few people here underestimate us. There are some good kids there and if we can keep the combos together we might surprise a few more teams this year.

Enjoy and hope this and last week finally get you guys into gear.

Sione Mata'utia continues to impress me, runs a bloody good line.

He has to dress up in drag first and smear lipstick all over his face...then he repeats to himself in the mirror "you filthy s**t".

Poor old Rynobs... he really has lost any credibility he had as a male escort lady boy out at Parramatta Mall !

Fun fact: If Eels and Bulldogs lose next week we go to 9th on the ladder. Doesn't seem possible after this start to the year.

One thing that I observed - I think we looked much better in attack (surprise surprise) once Cartwright came off and it was just Moylan and Cleary running the show. We looked much cohesive and organised in our attacking plays. I think when we have someone else at 5/8 (ie TMM or Cartwright) we suffer from having "too many cooks in the kitchen".

Really hoping Moylan gets shifted to 5/8 and it is just the Moylan and Cleary show for the rest of the year (but doubt it'll happen).

And definitely not a true reflection of how we are travelling relative to other teams - our four wins coming against the Knights (twice!) the Tigers and the Warriors, all of whom will probably be spoon contenders.

The rest of the draw for us this year is also very soft - so I wouldn't be surprised if we make the eight from here and get eliminated in the first week of the finals.
