Inglis would be a horrible signing for the money he would be asking. There's no improvement left in him.
He's really got us in a mess at the moment. I think the only position he can play and still be in the top echelon nowadays is at centre. Fullback and 5/8 look to be beyond his powers now.
Whatever his form has looked like at Souths in various other positions, as soon as he has been shifted out to the centres either at Souths or in Origin he is still a monumental handful.
That's all well and good for a QLD Origin or an Australian team but for Souths at club level we can't have $800k plus in salary cap sitting just off a flank.
The Broncos on the other hand... The only real weakness they have imo is Jack Reed. If they can offload him and use their magical cap powers to squeeze Inglis in then they will be unbeatable.
So in one way it'd be nice for us to get rid of him because we could then go and potentially grab 2 or even 3 very good players for his money. But on the other hand it would really strengthen up the Broncos and nobody wants that to happen.
