Anthony Don being courted by a few clubs (souths and sharks mentioned). Tits offer is under the 180k deal he is on at the moment. For a bloke that has scored 60 tries in 100 games for a team that hasn't been doing well for the majority of it that is a bargain. Tits reckon his age and injury history makes the loose change they are offering him as fair but will then probably give michael gordon an upgrade

So they are offering a lower value than he is currently on whilst carrying an overpaid Cartwright. Sounds like Bulldogs cap management 101.

Antonio Winterstein retired effectively immediatley.

Can mean only one thing, we’re clearing the decks for the best winger in the game to come join the best club in QLD.

welcome home Valentine Holmes.......

Sean O'Sullivan to the Broncos.

The only club with deeper pockets than us!

Not so sure about that. You guys lose one former rep winger. That gives you the cap space to sign 1 current and 1 former international and origin winger and out-bid Souffs for a current Origin backrower...

Meanwhile we get accused mercilessly of breaching the cap when we do nothing more than re-sign our own non- tier 1 rep players and sign ZERO new players to the club...

Clearly we must be the ones breaching the cap...

Yeah but you've got 3m tied up in Milford, an old Darius Boyd, and Jack Bird.

Which is a shocking waste of money that doesn't leave a whole lot for re-signing half a sozen young guns.

Just imagine how many rep players we'll be able to sign when Darius comes off contract, ooh I can't wait!

I find it hard to believe he's on a million per year

For now. Like many I get the feeling that Darius is one more serious hamstring injury away from retirement.

Also the idea we paid $1m a year for Bird is hilarious. His contract prices have gone depending on the journo, anywhere from $700k to $1.2m a season...

It also depends on the context of the discussion for broncos fans

Like if we’re talking about the broncos signing another player right now, he’s definitely on 700k

But in 12 months time if they release him to sign Nathan Cleary and Kayln Ponga, he was definitely on 2.3mil

Which would leave them with 1.3mil still to spend!

The problem is, we aren’t the ones talking about these figures, everyone else is.

However not only do we rort the cap allegedly, we also use our supposed massive advantage in un-declared TPA’s according to the anti-bronco hive mind.

The ridiculousness of this position never fails to amuse me though. We’ve never been found guilty of breaching the major salary cap, yet accused of it weekly.

We have unfair / unlimited TPA advantages being a one city club, yet we still use rubbery figures that don’t add up (except obviously to the NRL auditors)...

If we had these TPA’s why would we even bother with rubbery figures? Yet the anti-bronco BS continues nonetheless...
