I'm sure the lack of awareness is also a factor, but under 20s is full of blokes as big as first graders. The problem with these lumps is that they don't have the fitness of first graders of equivalent size.
most are not as big as first graders., avarage age is 19. fitness not the problem little fella

According to rugbyleagueproject we only used 28 players this season in NRL, including Peats and Paulo *and Foran (how could I forget him?)*.

So 40 player squads are helpful for two grades, but you don't usually need to dip too far down to fill your first grade.

Well you can really only use 31 anyway (All your top 25 plus a max of 6 from your second tier).

40 man squads are bullshit

Sure. I'm just saying that the point that the top four sides used 28 or so players is no different to have many players we used this year, even losing three.

Players used doesn't mean that clubs don't need 40 players, to fill positions in their two open teams (and hence have more than one backup available in each position). You just don't end up getting close to using all 40 in a given year.

Those 28 players is their entire squads. I doubt Sharks, Raiders or Cowboys came close to using 25 players all season.

The lack of injuries is surely connected to their top four finishes. The most players used by a top four team was 27 (Melbourne Storm) whereas the bottom four teams (for wins not points) all used 31 players except for the Knights who used 35.

But I agree a 40 man squad is unnecessary.

If your second tier cap is full and you have enough injuries/suspensions you can use more than 31.

True, but realistically if you have had used that many players and need to ask to use more then you're probably not competing for a spot in the Top 8 anyway.

I felt so akward when he sent me the request, embarrassed for him. are u upset cause he never sent u one americanassrules

Genuine question.

What's with the "americanassrules" comment? You've mentioned it a couple of times when referring to Hiney. Is Hiney American? Is his arse American? Did he do an American in the arse once?

I dont get it.

P.S. Calling him "Whineyrulz" makes more sense.

Bunnies pounce on teen sensation Haas
By The Mole
September 10, 2016
THE HOTTEST young property in rugby league is set to sign with South Sydney in coming weeks.

Gold Coast teenager Payne Haas had all 16 NRL clubs on his tail – as well as a couple of American NFL franchises.

I’m hearing it’s come down to a battle between the Rabbitohs and Eels for the forward – who at 16 is already bigger than Jason Taumalolo – with Souths set to win the fight.

Haas, who was contracted to the Warriors this year, is too young to play NRL next season.
