We have more then enough strike in our backline. Jennings,Hayne are origin quality. Gutherson and Bevan are not that far off nor is Norman and Moses.
A cheap winger like Auvua mean an extra 350k to spend on forwards.
So on bench we can have two forwards worth 375k compared to 2 guys worth 200k..
Can you imagine the difference in quality you would get.
And Radradra’s scoring output needs to be judged against how many tries another winger would have scored in the same games.

Semi is more than just a winger.

He hits up the middle and makes line breaks for other other players and even the occasional 90m try up the middle as well as on the edges.

He occasionally plays on the wing too.

Ho do you put a price on a match winner like that ?

Look, you'd have to say his price would be AT LEAST $12.57

The role of a winger that has as much influence as Semi, has been seriously undervalued over the years.
Yeh, it's great to have strong forward packs and a brilliant spine, but when you have a player as explosive as Semi, you pay more than what is considered for that position, and you intelligently economise in some other positions.
It's a no brainer. Particularly with a talent like Semi. The likes of him don't come along that often.

The same way you put a price on any other match winner.

Semi had a greater impact on our year that whoever was the fullback.

So for mine he deserves spine equivalent cash.

Nobody (that matters) has ever said Radradra is worth less for being a winger. The reason he isn’t worth what his highlight reel would indicate is his lack of involvement, in both attack and defence. Obviously he could become more involved with a move into the forwards, but then he wouldn’t look like such a match winner. I think a lot of merkins are overlooking the fact that a large part of his apparent effectiveness comes down to the fact a high proportion of his carries have been when he has room to move against isolated defenders.

Yes he’s worth more than any other winger in the game but not by a lot. He wasn’t even the top tryscorer this year, but he did make the most handling errors.

There's one thing Semi brings to the table that hasn't been touched on yet - the ability to get us a cheap penalty when rucking it out of our own end.

Time and time again, Semi would return a kick, and get us a penalty on the first or second tackle, to get us out of our own half.

He's worth big bucks imo.

I love Semi and wish he would return.... BUT geez he could let in a try by letting his opposition get on his outside. Other than that flaw he is right up there with the best wingers the game has seen.

And he makes veneers during a game. (They say the real champions have always got the time.)

I agree with Pou. But more to the point how many games would of we lost if Semi didnt play. If semi contributed 6 points but we wkn by 16 would of it mattered?
All wingers will score a few great tries during the season. Look at Feldts against us.
And its not about Semi being worth 700k. He is. But aslong as your happy to have a sacrifice in other positions.

I think in league there are a few positions where you can get good value out of someone. Wing is one of those.
For 150-200k you can find a guy who may lack those big plays of Semi but will have 90% same effect on game.
I really doubt you could find a Half or Fullback for 150-200k that you could say the same about.
