He was up to $80,000 at last count after winning a huge pot with set over set.

Still, good luck winning the thing - even the pros don't think they can win the main event!

End of Day 3 and Warney has 100k in chips.

How absolutely insane would it be if the great man went on to win the whole thing? That would be awesome!

Theres plenty of other great players still up there in the chip count too....Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Hoyt Corkins, Allen Cunningham, Minh Nguyen, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen...

Go Warney!

Warney out. Called a three way all-in holding 10-10. Was against A-K and J-9.

An A hit the flop. Oh well, not a bad effort.

Phil Hellmuth btw is still alive with 86 players remaining.

If he was to win it would stamp himself as the greatest texas hold 'em player who ever lived.

Long odds though to nominate anyone really given luck will be the main factor at the end.

What's so funny?

I know poker isnt exactly like Golf, Cricket or any other sport where you can say, based on statistics, thats so and so is the greatest ever.

But it would be an amazing effort to win his second WSOP Main Event in todays age where there are 6000 plus entries every year. And besides he has more WSOP bracelets than any one else and has earned more money than anyone else on the pro circuit.

He's a bloody great player, no doubt. He's also hilarious and great to watch.

The Poker Brat = LEGEND.

What you mean Tommy is that he would stamp himself as the greatest HE tournament player of all time - which he probably already is - but greatest poker player? Not a hope in hell

I did say greatest texas hold em player, not greatest poker player.

All of his bracelet wins have been for hold em. His record at it is unmatched.

but obviously he's not the greatest all-round poker player.

But you're only talking tournaments there Tommy, he isn't mentioned too often when talk turns to The Big Game.
