Nice ton from Middinson, he looked good from when he strode to the wicket scoring at a run a ball from the start when everyone was crumbling around him

Also nice to see Abbott come good 3 wickets and a 50

Maddinson back batting where he should be- number 4 and he scores runs...fair dinkum. The bloke isn't a Shield opener.

So are you saying he would not have made those runs today if he opened ?

You do realise he has always been an opener and thats what got him in the Blues team and the Aust A team.

Yeh, rather obvious to the regulars that follow first class cricket

Hard to shift our top 3 atm, they have been in some pretty decent form while Maddinson was away.

Reminds me so much of Mark Waugh in so many ways. Can get away with him opening in 1 dayers or t20 but in Shield or test cricket you need to be more compact. He is a perfect number 4 or 5.

Maddinson is still very loose outside off, he needs the ball a little older. His dismissal today is exaxtly that, no footwork and a nick. He did that all season last year opening.

how ironic, he didn't open in this innings yet still got out the same way
