For discussion on the NSW v Victoria Sheffield Shield game at No 1 Sportsground Newcastle. Brad Hodge's last first class game. I'll be going on Sunday.

Wasn't Newcastle the ground where Victoria chased over 400 on the last day to win with David Hussey scoring a double ton by smashing Macgill?

Hodge has played his last FC game. He is out with a knee injury.

As if Victoria's fast bowling stocks couldn't get worse... both Pattinsons are out, one injured and the younger one rested after recent heavy bowling load. Without Siddle, McKay, Nannes, Harwood, Wright, D.Pattinson and J.Pattinson the Vics are down to Hastings, Gilmour and Sheridan as the quicks.

Victoria: Cameron White (capt), Steven Gilmour, John Hastings, Jon Holland, David Hussey, Nick Jewell, Lloyd Mash, Andrew McDonald, Bryce McGain, Chris Rogers, Will Sheridan, Matthew Wade (12th man to be named)

Should have seen if Tanvir could come over early, they are only in NZ

Looks like it could be another run feast with both sides very weak in the bowling department

Get Lambert out and our attack looks better. I hope Bird is better for the run as he wasn't too threatening.

Lambert is only there due to the amount of injuries we have

add Bracken, Lee and Clark to that team and all of a sudden its a different attack

Day 1 completly washed out.
Thing is it wasn't overly heavy it was mostly drizzle but still enough to prevent play.
