front page of the daily telegraph today tells of the australia we can expect under bill shorten

in his first 100 days in office (should he win) he has promised to raise personal taxes, scrap negative gearing (raise taxes), reverse the company tax rate cuts (raise taxes), and reverse the decision of the independent fair work commission to reduce sunday penalty rates

all excellent measures to stimulate economic activity and investment im sure our resident labor cheer squad will agree

Scrapping negative gearing is fine. Raising tax rates for higher earners is fine.

Is it a blanket tax rate increase for companies, are small businesses exempt? Small businesses appear to be going to the wall all the time so I am not really in favour of increases for small business.

How the heck would b dos know. He walked past the DT read the headlines and had a rage stroke. He doesn't have time for details or linking the story. He has to get angry

If your are going to the wall it doesn't matter what the tax rate is because you don't make a profit.

Its all the indirect taxes, fees, subscriptions and the big daddy electricity.

Thems some great plans by bill though, stick the hand in everyone's pockets.

I'm surprised nobody has thought of such innovation before.

why is that? because it wont impact you, or because 'they can afford it' ? or both?

should the government also make 'savings' by scrapping deductions for work related expenses that you and average joe claim?

what would you call a small business?

shorten doesnt speak in specifics, he calls it 'tax cuts for millionaires' as a dog whistle to rabid leftists like pete

Dumb Idea, it's a tax you have to pay even when losing money.

Like all these fixed charges for power and water, doesn't matter if you conserve.

I was just being a drama queen like the DT.

Remember how Murdoch was rumoured to have chucked the shits about the UK election. Nobody gives a shit about what the papers reckon anymore. Each year that goes by they have less power.

Trump won when 90 percent of papers were against him. News can spin like a top about Shorten and its not going to make much difference.

Maybe if you are losing money something more productive can go in the place and you can move your business to a cheaper location. This might just help decentralise Australia a bit.

    yes

your comment speaks volumes firstly about your overwhelming desire for control over other peoples lives and secondly about your lack of understnading of what its like to run a business

without business people having a go, PAYG earners who rely on them to take the risk and put it all on the line, dont have jobs
